5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent e-book edition of a classic masterpiece
I was delighted to read this classic novel again, this time as an ebook: The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Hapgood Translation, Unabridged)
Apart from being extremely affordable this ebook is also well formatted and offers us the classical Hapgood translation. On the contrary to many adaptations of this novel the original story is focused on the cathedral Notre Dame more...

3.0 out of 5 stars very good but.........
If you are really interested in old books this is a great choice, the language can be quite difficult though if you are not used to it and I wouldnt recommend it as a light read. If you are really interested in old books this is a great choice, the language can be quite difficult though if you are not used to it and I wouldnt recommend it as a light read. The main story is really intriguing and offers a totally different view than the Disney version (of course) it is pretty dark and quite upsetting in parts. My only problem with the book is the pages and pages of writing describing things that really don't make much of a difference to the story line. This is often the trend in old stories but here I think the author goes one too far. Did the description of Paris really require a whole chapter?? :')
