I admit it; I have read a ton of books, articles and blogs about health & nutrition and assumed I had heard it all before. How wrong was I?!?

I initially figured that healthy living was down to nutrition and exercise, only. End of. So long as I was able to fit my morning's workout and plan my nutritionally balanced meals, I should look like Elle McPherson, in no time. But this book has made me look at my health from a completely different perspective; it's about so much more than the aesthetics.

The book takes a slightly more holistic approach, citing 7 (equally weighted) factors to achieving health, energy and HAPPINESS. The main chapters include mind management, nutrition, sleep, exercise, computer use, re-energise and work-life balance. Mind management and sleep are my personal favourites; I now NEED my 8 hours! The book follows a clear format, presenting each topic in simple and concise segments. The easy to read chapters allow you to dip in and out, making changes to your life at your own pace. The author has also incorporated plenty of tips, case studies and resources to help you along the way. I have since marked my changes, and refer back to the book periodically to review my progress. So far, so good!

This book has shown me that for health, fitness and happiness to be truly optimised we should look at ourselves as a whole; body and mind. Only when we find balance between these can we create sustainability and wellbeing.

If like me you need someone to show you the way forward, then this book is for you. So easy to follow yet the impact is great, if you stick to only a few new habits you will start to feel the change. Since some of my friends and family have noticed the change in me, they've all gone out and picked up their own copy! This book will be by my side until i've read enough to know the words off by heart. Very much worth every penny.

one very easy to read, easy to understand book. I read this book in a day, it wasn't taxing, didn't go off on tangents or loose my interest. Good simple advice.I enjoyed reading this book and found his tips, advice, easy to follow and act on.

While I cannot give up caffeine I have found his superfood suggestions really good and I am going to try a bit of a carb detox. Love the meditation suggestions too!

This is a good simply book and Oliver does not expect you to be perfect - he expects you to be perfect and good to yourself for only 80% of the time. The other 20% you can be naughty! When you have this approach you actually want to challenge him and try and be good all of the time. I have certainly improved my energy levels since reading and dip in and out of the book at periodic intervals. Also signing up to Oliver's blogs and website is very good but think you need the book as your reference bible. It is a good price on amazon and money well spent.

This is a great book that explains in easy terms the little things that you need help with in your life (or maybe not), whether it be Diet, Sleep, Lack of Energy, and more importantly how all these things combine to help improve the new you.
It has step by step guides and little exercises for you to try that really do work.
The fact that it is not a brick and you can keep it in your handbag for quick referral is also a bonus!
Have recommended to friends and family without hesitation!
A must have for the New Year!

I finished the book yesterday and I thought it was brilliant. Extremely motivational and inspirational. I love the fact that is it so practical and easy to use. I also thought it was very well written and liked the fact that the style was relaxed and informal instead of being too scientific and intimidating like many similar books of this genre.
Perfect for anyone looking for help to kickstart 2013 in a healthy, happy, positive way.

I received this book as a belated Christmas present and it is just what I need to start 2013 on a good footing. Instead of the usual 'preachy' tones of other health related books I have read, Energise You is concise, to the point and focuses on achievable goals. I really enjoyed the 'quick fix' chapter which offered simple tips to boost your energy immediately and the concept of the 80/20 rule. Would highly recommend.
