Like a lot of Robyns stuff it doesn't grab you straight away, but when it does..... Love from London is no exception and won't dissappoint on any level.
More please!!!!!

from the master of quirky, strange and wonderful songs.

Takes time to grow on you, as all the good ones do.

Quite a noticeable Beatles-ish feel here and there, -nothing wrong with that is there?

If you like Robyn Hitchcock, you'll not need any persuasion to pick up this set.

Recommended purchase.

I own several of Robyn Hitchcock's albums - my favourites are probably Propellor Time and Spooked - this is fantastic too. His songs have intelligent, thoughtful and often witty lyrics; fabulous harmonies and melodies and unusual arrangements. I was lucky enough to see him live recently - just RH, a backing singer and (brilliant) cellist. Without doubt the best gig I've been to in years.
Go on, you won't regret it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Death and Love it., 11 Mar 2013

I suppose the criterion I use when listening to a new album is simple: could anyone else have made it? The answer here is a resounding No. Well, nobody alive could. Maybe a certain Winston O'Boogie could have fashioned it in the Dakota inside his frozen white room with Yoko and a big white piano. But Winston is gone . . .

Death and Love seems to me to be the key song here. It comes close to explaining what it is we all are dealing with here on this globe of frogs where we hop and slither. Just have a listen and see if you can't feel it.

Bless dear old Robyn for making this record. It is so sane and so wise. Better than that, it is utterly beautiful.

Love from London? Love on ya, baby!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album, 15 Nov 2013

This is a good album and excellent value with an accompanying CD and download voucher all for just over 15. A bit ashamed that I haven't picked up on Robyn Hitchcock sooner. A hint of "Steven Tin Tin" Duffy, a touch Beatleish at times. A good listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best album from Robyn in years!, 3 Sep 2013

I don't normally write reviews, but having been a Robyn fan for over 20 years, I just had to write a review about his fantastic new album. The collection of songs are among the best I've heard from him in years. There are shades of I often Dream Of Trains, Fegmania here. What I love about Robyn is how he can make melancholic sound optimistic. There is great beauty in his crafted songs. If you are already a Robyn fan then you will not need convincing, if you're not, I urge you to buy this as you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to see him on tour later in 2013.

There's 52 stations on the Northern line...one of them is his... one of them is mine.

With this album Robyn locates those missing prawns he's been looking for. Apparently they are available from Mocca Kaffebar, Egersund and make up a tasty seafood salad.

She doesn't exist anymore... but thank frogs Robyn does.
