This is a really fine collection of rare tracks from the late '50 and early '60, but it isn't a rockabilly collection.
Don't let the title fool you, despite the tracks of Gene Vincent, Ronnie Self and Ronnie Dawson. But if you like oldies, surf/instrumentals and early rock 'n' roll it is a great cd full of known and lesser known rare tracks!

I love this CD, maybe some of the songs are a bit hit and miss and not exactly Rockabilly but this CD is guaranteed to cheer anyone up, I know some folk Pooh poo Rockabilly, one nasty soul described it as sounding like it had been recorded in a bottom of a dustbin but if you have a sense of fun and are not a "stuck up" critic, give it a whirl, you will be glad you did.

For someone who was a teenager in at the height of Rock n Roll and Rockabilly, thus CD is one to listen to and be transported back to a time when teenagers came into their own identity and styles and raw footstomping music compared to their older generation's dull bland lullabyes. It was a time and the musice that made you feel ALIVE, and was the birth of all modern popular music..... Long may it continue into the futute!!

If you like your Rockabilly and want the rough and ready rawness that influences the pyschobilly scene, then this is a great compilation at a bargain price. Some real gems on here along with some all time favourites, a really good mixed bag all round. Great one to throw on at parties and to drive to! Sits very well in anyone's collection who loves this kinda thing.
