5.0 out of 5 stars Great Wee Book, 10 Jan. 2013

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a n excellent wee book for all of those who love books that you can dip in and out of. Its a really nice object as well, a well designed hardback with some Mockintoshy text on the cover. There is a great range of items covered and in a lot of cases more than one item per day often covering a wide time period i.e. on April 22nd there are items from 1643 (£100 pounds from the city to pay the ransom of James Bogle from the Turks) and 1925 (detailing a meeting of the British Facists).

So far my favourite is the establishment of the University of Glasgow by a Papal Bull on January 7th 1450 - "Glasgow, as being a place of reknown and particularly well fitted therefore where the air is mild, victuals are plentiful, and great store of other things pertaining to the use of man is found..."

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and Addictive, 21 Oct. 2013
I was bought this book as a gift and have to say I found it hard to put down.
It is perfect for coming in and out of. Physically, I like the old fashioned prayer book feel and shape of it. It's funny, informative and very well written.
Norman Ferguson clearly knows his stuff. If History was this interesting at school I'd have stuck in.
If you enjoy shows like QI or Radio 4's The Museum of Curiosity and enjoy your facts this is the book for you.
Every home, school, library and university in Glasgow should have one.
