dark, gritty but worth a read
on 3 December 2013
The 5th book in the Brennan and Esposito series. I spotted this book and thought it looked interesting but as I hadn't read the first 4 I decided to start at the beginning and read them all in order, which I've now done.
This book starts with the murder of a woman dressed as an elaborate doll in the living room of her house which looks more like the inside of a dolls house. She is even posed with a tea cup in her hand, as if about to take a sip of tea.
And it pretty much gets weirder from there. This entire series of books is not for the faint hearted, they are very gritty and deal with some pretty dark subjects. But if you've got the stomach for it then I would recommend them, and I will certainly read the next instalment, if there is one.
