Very good extreme conditions jacket
on 1 April 2015
Really impressive piece of kit. Quite light for travelling and the Gor-Tex very effective. It was bought for a trip to Svarlbard, where it was a first class hiking jacket in air temperatures down to -22C and 15mph winds. I'm 6' 1" and the 'large' size allowed three layers quite comfortably although the arms might have been a bit tight had I been skiing. It is not a jacket for standing around in (ie if you're doing a lot of serious photography, collecting rock samples etc) at these temperatures but worked perfectly well for me down to -15C for this kind of work. Very well made, the 'thumb-through' cuffs are excellent retaining the bottom layer glove snuggly so that top layers could be easily removed for fiddly jobs. Zips work smoothly (right up to the top), Draw string and hood work well although pocket zips a bit difficult with top gloves.
