After reading another short story by this author in a best of horror collection I brought this. I was not disappointed with either the quality or quantity of this short story collection.
There are over twenty stories here that range from the sick to the bizarre to the creepy or sometimes, weirdly touching. There seems to be a flow to the stories as you go through them with one sometimes seguing to the next giving the reader a feeling that maybe these tales are small glimpses of the same world.
While the title of this collection alludes to all these stories having a apocalyptic end-of-the-world theme (which some definitely are) many are just personal tales of weirdness that include no catastrophic content at all.
A sample of the stories include, a man who has babies appear mysteriously in his apartment. An awakening of self made makeshift puppets from a dumping site. A woman who discovers disturbing secrets about her father. A world destroyed by the falling of blue snow. A man chased through endless tunnels by horrid monsters. A creepy closed down zoo where there might be something still haunting and hunting within and many more.
If you are a fan of horror there must be something here that you will enjoy whether it be gory and gross or simple yet affecting. This is quite an awesome collection of horror stories by an author of immense talent, wit and style. I recommend you give it a go. Thank you for reading.
