I have been a user of many Pacsafe products over the years and find they have always done a good job of deterring those folk who feel that your property should be theirs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Original was a better bag
I had a massive Pacsafephile and have had many of their products previously. I also had the original version of this and liked it so much I thought I'd get some of the perceived improvements of the sequel.

In summary this bag looks quite nice - aesthetics significantly improved over the previous version. The bag is also lighter and has had some new foam added...

I have been a user of many Pacsafe products over the years and find they have always done a good job of deterring those folk who feel that your property should be theirs.

This bag is no different.

Normally I use a Metrosafe bag, however with all the camera equipment, tablets, phone etc I need to move around with, the bag was beginning to bulge at the seams so to speak.

This model of the Venturesafe has a few inches more depth than the Metrosafe model I have and meets my current requirements.

It has lost a star due to two things.

Firstly the front pocket zips from the bottom on one side and as a consequence it can create a large opening when you unzip (the Metrosafe zips from the top centre in either direction). Not a great issue, but you do need to be aware of this if opening in a crowded place.

Secondly, whilst the outer pocket zip fastens to a hidden sprung clip, it is not particularly easy (unlike the main pocket) to add an additional small portable lock to provide extra security.

Overall however, another good Pacsafe product.

I had a massive Pacsafephile and have had many of their products previously. I also had the original version of this and liked it so much I thought I'd get some of the perceived improvements of the sequel.

In summary this bag looks quite nice - aesthetics significantly improved over the previous version. The bag is also lighter and has had some new foam added to the rear to protect a laptop/tablet. This is a welcome addition. The two side pockets for the water bottles are much too tight and only fit the thinnest of 500ml bottles whereas the previous version of the bag could easier stretch to accommodate the 750ml sports bottles or larger. Additionally the elastic has been rolled back into the pocket (something I've never seen before and looks quite odd and probably is restricting their ability to stretch).
I was really disappointed that the new version of the bag has had one of the most useful features of the previous bag removed which was the secret compartment on the top inside of the bag. I see this as a major downgrade.
The only other upgrade is that this one prevents anyone being able to scan any NFC enabled personal items you are carrying such as cards/passports etc but I'm not sure how much or a real threat this is when compared to having your money stolen which is where the secret compartment was incredibly useful.

All in all the previous bag was much better but looked worse. It's the first time I've been a bit let down by Pacsafe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another PacSafe, 25 April 2014

This review is from: Pacsafe Venturesafe 300 GII Shoulder Bag 25 cm (Accessory)
Have always been a fan of PacSafe bags so when a relative needed a new bag for university I recommended this. They love it. It has all the security features you expect like mesh, anti cut material, strong shoulder strap etc. This new version has lost the hidden pouch on the back, but does gain a more locking side buckle to attach the opening end of the shoulder strap to allow you to loop it around a post or table leg to stop someone picking it up and running off with it. The buckle replaces the previous flimsy looking metal gate system.
