First of all, thank you Amazon for the Student Next day free delivery, mucho thanks.
These Headphones are really good, if you desire a certain way of music.
This is lucky for me, as I am heavily bass driven with my music. I have also started DJing out properly so I needed a convinient pair of headphones that I could carry around with me easily, these are prime for the job. The two way cable is definetly worth commending as I will no longer have to worry about losing my cable adapter to put in the mixer.
So lets get down to the nitty gritty;
These headphones have brilliant bass, I'm loving the deep and noticable punch it gives you without overwhelming you. This is a big bonus for me personally. Now the Highs and Mids, admittedly not the greatest at all in the business, but this problem is only really encountered noticeably when not using an EQ. I found that adjusting around my itunes EQ gave a better sound and in Traktor. Still, if you're looking for that medlodic sound and a lot of vocals, you might want to look at other options.
I was looking for headphones that would be compact, lightweight, robust and altogether convenient for me. They look amazing when wearing them (I got the whites by the way) and feel very light when wearing them on top of my big head. The ear pads are comfy too. They fold as well which is a bonus. The build quality is one of the best I've ever seen and I am assured that they will not be breaking on me for as long as I will have them. The only small complaint is that fitting them perfectly is a task but I have big ears so its kind of my own flaw.
Sound leakage = Absolutely none. Testing them around people at high volume and they can't hear a thing.
Sound Isolation = Brilliant, takes a big effort for your ears to hear anything outside of the phones.
Pros and Cons to recap;
Amazing punchy bass while not overwhelming you.
Look and feel good.
2 way cable is a god send for DJing.
Foldable and extremely good build quality so you can chuck them in a bag and not worry about a thing.
Fantastic Sound isolation and no sound leakage whatsoever.
Do not distort unless you are really pushing them at full volume/in the red on mixer channels.
Not the best in the Mids and Highs.
Little hard to adjust to comfort.
No holding bag, but this really doesn't concern me as I put them in a rucksack anyway.
These are prime headphones if you need the perfect balance of everyday headphones and DJ headphones at a early level. They will never look bad on you and almost become a good looking clothing item. If you're looking for a melodic sound with vocals etc. look elsewhere as these are 'DJ' headphones and are driven towards a punchy bass. For me these are the headphones I've been needing for a long time, they are not perfect, but they are what I need. I think Urbanears deserves quite a bit of credit for making affordable headphones like these.
