This is a coaching book written from the perspective of schools rather than businesses. I would take issue with a couple of things, the tendency to suggest the coach might also mentor, for example. But if you ignore that piece of poor advice, IMHO, the rest is a super book. Easy to read and lots of good advice.

Full of good thinking about how to inspire and get teachers motivated. This is a timely publication, much needed when morale in the English education system is at an all time low in many areas due to excessive stresses inflicted on contemporary teachers right now.
Particularly useful is the constant reminder that a good teaching coach will choose just the right questions that force out the mentees own educational philosophy and find their own answers to questions on behaviour management and programme of study design.
I am already using it in an advisory capacity in secondary education.

A very handy book for any teacher working in Primary or Secondary.
Appropriate for Middle Leaders & Senior leaders, any teacher tasked with supporting colleagues.
Useful for those studying MA's.

An easy read but unfortunately a little misleading as to what coaching really is. Contains several "schoolboy" errors which are misleading (eg a coach can also mentor) - that implies a lack of professional knowledge & skills...and is certainly NOT what a professional would do!
