I havent tried a Helicopter or Quad copter before - but these are great fun. I was a bit fooled by the size - in reality the whole quadcopter and wings will fit in the palm of the average hand - so don't expect this to be big. Once you figure out the arrow on the quadcopter needs to start facing away from you each time the controls are fairly simple - flying it is like balancing a plate on a stick. If you give it too much altitude even on the lowest power level it zooms off into the ceiling, which is actually why I feel it looses a point - it is too powerful in some instances for indoors - once it builds up a little momentum it is very difficult to stop it hitting either the walls or the ceiling - which was how I broke mine after about 30 minutes - one of the arms snapped off. After trying unsuccessfully to glue it - I ended up taping the arm back on - and it actually seemed to fly better after that.

This thing is amazing fun. The Quadcopter came ready to fly, just insert the battery and add some AA's in the transmitter and off you go. It's small but very well built with tough metal arms and a spare set of rotors in the box. Mine has had quite a bit of punishment today as I'm rubbish at it so far but it has done well and survived without a scratch. It even came out unscathed when my Labrador took a liking to it when it was in flight and tried to eat it out of the sky!

One thing I did notice is that when I first started using it, it was very difficult to get it to fly stable, but it was my fault. When you first connect the battery you need to make sure that the copter is on a flat surface for the first few seconds so that the in-built gyro can calibrate properly. Once I did this the thing fly's like a dream.

Overall well built, good fun and definitely worth the money.

Okay, so the arms break, really easily. We glued an arm together when it broke which was fine. Unfortunately, the next time it broke, the wires snapped, rendering the unit completely useless. Waste of money.

It does not work. The controller will not connect to the copter despite all trouble shooting tips. This was my sons birthday present, he was very disappointed.

Best toy ever!! Important that when you plug battery in, you lay it of a flat surface as quick as possible, wait 5sec then switch controller on. It's a dream to fly. Lunchtime at work has never been so much fun. Very good flying range. It takes a lot of punishment, had lost control when it was 40meters up, it crashed on to the concrete floor after hitting the shed wall. It just keeps going!!

This Turbo Drone Quadcopter is a disappointment, it is great when it flies and the kids love it, however when it come to landing the legs tend to break very easily. The item construction is simply not strong enough to cope with landings, it even broke when landed on lush grass. I've managed to araldite and tape the legs to prolong its life and it still flies ok but its on borrowed time. Its a real disappointment as I feel that it could be a great product.

Though the manual states that this device is for use only by those experienced with such aircraft, as a beginner I found it to be most accessible. In fact, my quadcopter has been piloted by four people of a wide range of ages and abilities and all were able to maintain a steady flight and landing within minutes.

That is not to say it hasn't been crashed a fair few times. Fortunately it is surprisingly durable, with the most damage (albeit minor) occuring on the rotors, for which there is a full set of replacements included if need be.

There are two included batteries which can be charged simultaneously, giving you just under 20 minutes of flying time for approx. 30 minutes of charging time.

The only negatives are that there is no guide to trimming in the manual (although this is nothing a spell of experimentation can't remedy), and that the prongs of the contacts that connect the copter to the batteries had to be bent upwards and did not come flight-ready.

In summary, this is a fairly priced and enjoyable product which I would fully reccommend to anyone interested. As long as you are not reckless, it will last a long time and provide ample entertainment.

Great, a quad-copter for under £50 that flies. I have bought helicopters at several hundred pounds and that are supposed to be ready to fly, BUT NO they do not, they require setting up.

This one is different, out of the box charge the battery, install the batteries in the transmitter and away you go, but I do recommend reading the instructions while the battery is charging.

The transmitter has different settings for the beginner at 20% of sensitivity, and then up to 100% for the experienced pilot, this lower setting is a must while you get used to it, and ideal for flying around the house, but the quad-copter is still very quick even with this setting.

When you get it outside adjust the transmitter setting in stages until you are able to fly it with confidence and then try the aerobatics. The unit is quite tough and will with with stand a few knocks.

Why did I choose this one when there are so many available, well, a while back I purchased a different product from paramountzone which I had trouble with, when I contacted the customer services the problem was dealt with immediately and I received another the following day, but it wasn't Christmas.

Have fun, I am sure you will.
