Love, love, love
on 13 November 2012
It is 3:30 in the morning, way past my bed time, but having just finished Love I had to say how much I adored reading it. It is PERFECTLY crafted. Like a Wagner overture with its rumbling orchestral swells, all its shivering spasms of hope and desire, and its gradual, enticing, inexorable inertia.
This is a subtle, delicate and beautiful balanced novella. Its sensitivity to the everyday is reminiscent of John Powys, but the economy and rythmn of the delivery are surely the author's gift alone.
I should also say Love was recommended on Goodreads by a reliable friend who accused me of having 'tom boy' reading tastes. I stand corrected. This was absolutely for me where I am right now.
