A stylish horror of the yesteryear
on 18 March 2004
From the opening sequence to the dramatic conclusion the scenes of violence are expertly put into play in a way that only the master’s of 80’s horror can do.
This movie is classy in the way that only the 80's horror movies can be, with intriguingly executed scenes of violence from the yesteryear.
I bought this movie for the appearance of Viggo Mortensen of Lord of The Rings fame and I wasn’t disappointed with the way he took this role as a convict in the prison which since it was closed down has been damned.
A plus point for Mortensen fans is his time spent in his underwear while the inmates are questioned about the deaths of fellow inmates.
Lane Smith turns out a fine performance as the prison guard who was involved in the incident that closed the prison down the first time.
Blood, gore and men in underwear galore this film has it all in the tight package of a stylish horror.
A must for all Mortensen fans and fans of horror movies of the 80’s with an intriguing twist to the tale.
