If you have ever been told you are a not right or felt that you just simply do not fit in with the norm, READ THIS! In a peculiar and unexpected way, it can make you feel a little less alone amongst the crazy mishmash of utter ball bags, that surround us daily. Share the common view point of another, who was a little braver to print what we all secretly think. Pleasantly comedic, perverse and politically incorrect, it is a thoroughly enjoyable and belly warming read.

Stanley East's mischievously complicit novel showcases Eric's dissolute behaviour as he spends most of his time seeking to understand the purpose of his existence. East manages to strike a healthy balance between Eric's colourful living character and the humdrum hollow lifestyle he leads. As a first time novellist I think East has turned out an excellent and interestingly compelling novel that has a flow maintaining my interest to the end. Highly recommend

The narrator opens up his inner self for us all to see. All his weaknesses, neuroses, worries and doubts. And entertaining it is too. A dark humour infuses the tale as we progress through the protagonists past and present. A journey of drink, drugs and sex told with disarming honesty.

As the author writes: We all have choices.

And although some of us are lonely, we are not truly alone.

Intelligently written, beautifully observed and utterly compelling. I could not stop reading this. A refreshingly (sometimes painfully) honest look at modern life and relationships. I think the author's reflections will resonate with many. The book inspires self reflection and acts as a companion along the way - you are not alone in the darker, more lonely corners of your mind. Very brilliantly done. Would be good to see more from the author.

A persuasive first person narrative brings the reader up close and personal to one man's mid-life crisis. Nicely observed, brutally honest and laced with dark humour.

The illustrations and book cover are utterly inspiring.......very talented artist. Wonderful book. An absolute must!
I would be extremely interested to see further artistic work by Emma O'Dowd, very under rated artist

Really enjoyed reading this first person account of a life well travelled and well thought. Brave to put thoughts to paper not afraid to express. I found it a compelling read. I hope there are more books on the way from this Author.
