I haven't purchased a decent belt for a number of years, my black Levi's belt has lasted me a good 20 years and is only now starting to really show it's age, so it was with a heavy heart that I went searching for a replacement.
Since buying the original belt I have put on a decent amount of weight so I needed to make sure that whatever I purchased was large enough to let me wear it comfortably.
Size wise the Wrangler belt is ideal, it fits my 44 - 45" waist with a couple of holes to spare (of course the aim is to not grow larger).
However what let the belt down was the quality and thickness of the leather belt, my older belt was probably closer to 3 - 4 mm thick and was a very soft leather, this Wrangler belt is closer to 2 mm thick and a very stiff leather, for the first couple of days the belt was very stiff and uncomfortable.
Having worn it now for the last couple of weeks I am unsure how long this belt will last, not because I don't like it but actually how good the leather will last due to wear and tear.
If you want a short term belt then this may work for you but if you need something to last a couple of years I have my doubts that this is the belt for you.
