I simply cannot accept that such a sweet sound can come from such a small box. It looks darkly cute, it feels solid and it sounds fantastic. I also have a Bose iPod player and this little Angel matches it's performance in every respect other than power output. That said it will still fill a room with clear undistorted music and will work on any phone or MP3 player .

I was bought one of these for my birthday last month and it is a really smart piece of kit. It has a very sturdy feel to it and exudes quality giving you confidence that it is going to last.

I'm going to be travelling quite a bit and it will be great for that but in the meantime I've been using it in the kitchen with my iphone and tonight with my MAC so that it is charging as I listen to last night's Craig Charles Funk and Soul show. And the Funk and Soul is coming over deep and bass-ey with this little thing. It's not turned up loud as I don't need my music at home to be earsplitting but I've tried it at full volume and it was a little bit distorted, but gawd it was loud so I'd never want to play it that loud anyway, and I'm sure my neighbours wouldn't want me to either!

One thing would be useful on it and that would be an indicator of how much battery life is left on it. This is the first time I've charged it myself, the other 5 or 6 hours of play have all been with the charge that it came with which was great, but I had no idea how much was left so I am charging it up now just in case. And the colour of the light underneath changes from red when charging and blue when playing to purple when doing both - of course!

This is perfect for iPhone, iPad, tablet, etc as a very portable speaker. It has a surprisingly good sound - not enormously loud, but removes the tinny thin squeak your device plays without it. I was happy enough with mine to buy a friend one as a birthday present, and they love it. I also bought my parents one for their galaxy tablet, while introducing them to spotify. It now follows them in every room playing all sorts of oldies! Not sure how long the battery lasts. None of us have had to charge them yet, so seems to be pretty good!

Well chuffed with this. Great design / build quality. Sound quality is exceptional for something this size and is loud enough to be seriously antisocial. Approx 1/2 volume is plenty for general listening. Despite all great reviews I was skeptical when purchasing... no need - its as good as reviews state. This is a gem of a product - forget all the others...oh and compared to the cute little pop up type speakers - this kicks out way more. Guaranteed success as tweenager gift. No more tinny audio direct from the phone - this conveniently sized, long lasting addition to your paraphernalia can upset an entire park or fastfood restaurant or previously pleasant viewpoint with in no time at all by playing questionable music at antisocial levels with no care for those around. Congratulations MAF, you have created the modern ghetto blaster!

I bought this to replace an X mini. The X Mini had a little more Bass but mechanically it didn't last. All the opening and shutting it soon began to buzz and lacked volume. However, this well made little unit has plenty of volume and a nice all round sound. The only improvement for me would be a little more bass. Overall this is a great little player

Taking into account the price and the size this little speaker exceeds my expectations by a long way, in a word it's "outstanding".

Out of the box the design and quality of construction is impressive, it looks like a nice piece of kit and when you plug it in it sounds "equal to, if not better than" it looks, and it looks top notch.

I don't claim to be an audiophile so I can't quote signal to noise and all that, maybe if you are into s/n ratio's you wouldn't be looking at mini speakers, but forgetting technicalities of this little speaker the sound that it pumps out certainly doesn't sound tinny in any way, far from it, even at full volume the sound doesn't distort. Have to say that I'm very happy with everything about the Music Angel, it's money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

When first purchased thought this was a great little speaker for my daughter to use in her bedroom and the take on holiday. As it was light, sounded good and looked good. The speaker has barely been moved since purchase six weeks ago and now the sound is variable and distorted, not good at all - will have to look for something better.

what a great little speaker for 20 pounds, just a note if you have a player with eq this speaker greatly benefits from having between 200hz and 350hz taken down, there's even some actual bass albeit minute the sound produced itself is rather powerful and not of a bad quality, in fact its quite good in all honesty!

I received my (beautiful pink and shiny!!) Music Angel Friendz speaker this morning and thought I'd give it a whirl...
What can I say? As a music freak, I insist on good quality sound. That said, the speaker is very small and at only £19.99 I was being realistic in my expectations but how wrong was I!! The sound is AMAZING!! Obviously, it doesn't have the same depth of sound as playing the music (from my iPhone 4S) through my home speakers but it is far better than I could have possibly hoped for!
The sound is clear, has a decent bass quality and is surprisingly loud for such a compact little item.
I love the fact that it is rechargeable, it will save me an absolute fortune in batteries!

All I can say is I can thoroughly recommend this speaker, it is brilliant and don't be put off by it's size - it's a mighty powerful little devil and you won't be disappointed!

Purchased one of these as was looking for a new speaker to replace one of our X-minis. Although this isn's as portable as an X-mini (its not far off it), it looks much better and produces a much bigger sound.
It doesn't bounce along my desk like the X-mini and can be daisy chained just as the X-mini can.
The sound is far superior in both a volume and clarity perspective. I paid under £20 for mine but wouldn't pay more, if you want large room filling sound you'll need 2. If its a small to medium room and your not using it to host a party its great. Connected it up to my laptop and made film watching a far more enjoyable experience. Would recommend.
