4.0 out of 5 stars children of sorrow trilogy, 8 Jan 2013

This trilogy is well worth reading. The world and the parallel worlds it describes are built up convincingly. The characterisation is good and the storyline absorbing and fast moving. The third volume of the trilogy needed more editing and had quite a few typing errors which did jar in places in what was otherwise a very good storyline.
Personally, I thought it would have been better if the two boys had been older-12 or 13, given the enormity of the challenges they had to face.
Also, I thought that the epilogue was not necessary and actually detracted from the dramatic ending of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Trilogy, 4 Jun 2013
This review is from: The Children of Sorrow - The Complete Trilogy (Kindle Edition)
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this Trilogy. There are some great ideas, interesting story lines and classic well constructed characters. It was entertaining and fast paced with some amusing scenarios too.

I found the books a real 'page turner' resulting in too many late nights, though the actions of the main antagonist character was not conducive to a good nights sleep!

I thought the epilogue was useful as I like closure to a story. There is still plenty of mileage left in these characters and their worlds. I'd like to know what happened to them afterwards, particularly as some of them are quite young.

In conclusion I don't think you could be disappointed with this Trilogy with the worlds and cultures it brings together in an inventive and novel way. I shall look forward to re-reading this at some time in the not too distant future.
