I watch Jools Holland on the tv and sometimes enjoy it, as it depends who has on the show, (which applies to any show)
but THIS cd is an excellent choice of artists from various genres but who are really talented, and of course The Jools Holland band accompany them brilliantly. The songs are very varied in style and I loved all of them. In short, it is a cd I will be listening to many many times, and not tire of. Well done again Jools. Keep promoting this good stuff Amazon!

Some of these tracks are absolutely briliant, Paolo Nutini, Cee Lo Green, Tom Jones, Ruby Turner, James Morrison, Joss Stone, Paul Weller. Normally, I'd be a fan of Caro Emerald, Rumer and Florence Welch and love all the songs they chose to sing but felt that these particular tracks lacked a bit of power and didn't really suit their singing style. Felt the remaining few were weak and let the overall feel of the Album down, hence the missing 5th star.

I wasn't that impressed with this cd. I found it a disappointment after really enjoying some of his other compilations.

I'm not normally one to buy compilations, especially from Jules Holland, but this CD is an exception! On this album you'll find some truly famous artists performing numbers that will surprise you.
If the idea of Amy Winehouse and Paul Weller doing a duet, Paloma Faith singing a classic, or discovering that Caro Emerald is Mad About The Boys then this CD is for you. Just look it up on Amazon and see if it appeals to you - a great buy!

This has to be one of the best albums of the year with outstanding performances from Rumer, James Morrison, Paloma Faith, Jessie J, Lily Allen, Tom Jones, Ruby Turner, Paul Weller, the sadly departed Amy Winehouse and many others. 'Later with Jools Holland' has been the best, by far, music tv programme around in 20+ years and regular viewers of his Hootenanny new year show won't be disappointed by this collection of fabulous tracks.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas and he absolutely loved it, said that most of the songs were brilliant.

This isn't for everyone but if this is your sort of thing its really good with the exception of the Lily Allen track. She just hasn't got the range for it and she is straining to try and hit and hold the notes. I quite like her stuff normally but she has got a restricted range and when she sticks to it she is fine but this song is just too demanding. I have to skip the track because it grates so much.

I, was a bit unsure about getting this, but after hearing some of it whilst in a London market I really did like what I heard. The track I really do like is the duet between Paul Weller and Amy Winehouse. Amazing how well it was put together and they seem to compliment each others vocals. Loving listening to this and will no doubt purchase more in the future. Great CD by a great musician.

We always watch Jools Holland when he is on TV and make an exception always on New Year's Eve for his Hootmahony (I probably have spelled this wrong, but you know what I mean) and I thought I would treat my husband to this CD of his. He loved it, and on further investigation, he didn't know that Jools Holland has a number of various CD's from his shows. We certainly will be buying more.
