Reading "between the lines" of the description gives the problem with this book. The projects are superb examples of what internationally known design professionals can do with AE. However as the description says "...focus ... novice motion graphic artists." The techniques given are indeed of use to novices, but only to novices. Whereas the finished projects are at the very high end. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REPRODUCE THE FINNISHED MOVIES.
This is 1 of 7 AE books I own, and unfortunately it stays on the shelf.

AE in Production - Trish & Chris Meyer is much better for an average user.

AE 6.5 Magic - Rankin&Ullrich was the best ever, but desperately needs a CS3 update version.
