5.0 out of 5 stars The Lie: Evolution (25th Anniversary Edition: Revised and Expanded
It was a great pleasure to read this book. The author has given his reasons why Evolution can not be called science but is better named a belief system. He also shows why it is wrong to try to fit Evolutionism into the Bible and why it is important for western society to return to the plain reading of the Bible. All in all an excellently arranged presentation. Bez

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor!, 20 Dec. 2013
The author's woeful lack of understanding of scientific basics and distortion or complete misrepresentation of facts renders the book futile. He has little comprehension of the subject matter and all the book consists of are his own ill-informed opinions and everyone else - no matter if it is all the scientists in the world, other Christians or theologians and scholars - is totally wrong. Given that some of his ideas are laughable in their ineptitude this book has no credibility whatsoever - a complete joke and waste of time. Also I find it quite offensive that he assumes Christians are so ignorant as to not realise what rubbish this is, it's embarrassing, Mr Ham get yourself an education!

1.0 out of 5 stars Unadulterated Drivel, 14 Jan. 2014
It is beyond comprehension that anyone living in a developed nation in the 21st century can believe this mind numbing stupidity.
Anyone attempting to teach children this drivel should be charged with child abuse.

1.0 out of 5 stars Astonishing rubbish, 17 May 2014
This review is from: The Lie: Evolution (Revised & Expanded) (Kindle Edition)
It is quite impressive how terrible this book is in misinformation, misunderstanding and distorting science - but I wont go on here because this is familiar territory. It also doesn't respect the different theological and scriptural interpretations within Christianity.

If someone want a better understanding of Christianity and the threat of evolution then read:
Evolving out of Eden: Robert M. Price (Author), Edwin Suominen
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Evolving-out-Eden-Robert-Price-ebook/dp/B00BX3AJ8Q/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1400356395&sr=8-10&keywords=evolution+eden

Evolving out of Eden is a response discussing the interface of theistic evolution and its problems with Christian theology - many of which would be familiar to readers but some insights people may not be aware.
For a literalistic young Earth Creationist the book will validate what they expect - that any "naturalistic" version of evolution is not compatible with Christianity without altering Christianity beyond recognition.
However for Christians (generally aimed at Christianity but also relevant to Judaism & Islam) who embrace the science of evolution (the entire continuum regardless if cosmological, geologic or biological) the book will be challenging and provoke the reader to think about the subject in more depth.

1.0 out of 5 stars Truly mistaken and dismissive of all who disagree with him, 30 Dec. 2012

Firstly I was expecting this book to be anti-evolution (clue is in the title); no surprises there then. The arguments put forward are so foolish I don't even know where to start. In fact they have been rehearsed so well elsewhere I won't bother.
The bigger surprise was the vitriol heaped upon those Christians and Creationists who happen to disagree with the author. In his eyes, they are just as bad because they dilute the Fundamentalist message. Of course there is no possibility that Mr Ham has the incorrect interpretation of things- it's everybody else who is wrong wrong wrong! He is right on some things though- any interpretation of the Bible that is seen to be figurative or allegorical rather than a literal truth does undermine its authority as the ACTUAL WORD OF GOD. Of course it is no such thing!

4.0 out of 5 stars The lie: evolution (revised and expanded), 7 April 2013

It's a book that opens your eyes to what is happening regards the teaching of the Lord's word in our church's and schools. As a teacher myself it has awakened me and set me on a path to get the tools and knowledge to be able to teach Genesis with conviction. The book isn't written particularly well but it is easy to understand. It is a little repetitious but the message that Ken Ham is essentially conveying, is so fundamentally important for Christians, you can forgive him for wanting to make sure you get it. A must read.
