I agree with the author that laughter is preferable to medicine or therapy. It is never harmful - and it always works! This book is full of excellent techniques, and they are all clearly described - so you can step into the giggle zone straight away . . .

"How can I relieve my stress with humour and laughter?" you may ask, a little skeptically!

This book shows you how simply because as soon as you are laughing about something, you have made a positive shift in perspective and released beneficial hormones into your system. I love the quote from NLP guru Richard Bandler: "People often say, one day you'll be able to look back at this and laugh. My policy is why wait?"

Full disclosure - I am a qualified Laughter Yoga Leader who trained with internationally acclaimed Laughter Yoga pioneer Dr Madan Kataria from India who has taken laughter into more than 60 countries, introducing it into schools, companies and hospitals and community "laughter clubs".

I am familiar with the benefits Dr Kataria gives for "laughing and breathing deeply for up to 10 minutes - even for no particular reason". The benefits include reduction of pain (due to the release of endorphins), lowered blood pressure, relief of depression,anxiety, stress and a proven improvement in health and well being.

Why I give this little book 5 stars is because I learned a ton of new quick stress relief tips that I can use in ways I had never thought of before. These include tips like sending humour down the timeline(an NLP concept)into multiple future events that may be worrying you; changing your inner critic (or "internal terrorist" as the author calls it) with a funny voice like Mickey Mouse of Daffy Duck; creating a Giggle Zone and other useful ideas that work!

How to - Stress Relief using Humour and Laughter is worth its weight in gold if you want a quick fix that makes you feel good while changing the structure of your thought patterns quickly and easily to firstly relieve stress but ultimately make you a more cheerful and happy human being!
