5.0 out of 5 stars Candace Camp is as terrific as always!, 21 Sept. 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Indiscreet (Paperback)
In 1812, Benedict Wincross, Lord Rawdon, in the midst of fleeing from
someone(s) shooting at him, accidentally runs into Camilla Ferrand. Both
immediately act antagonistic towards the other as they blame their current
disorientation on the other. However, they both soon realize that they
have a common need of the other. Camilla needs a fiancé to accompany her
when she arrives at her grandfather's home. Benedict needs an easy access
to the same address so that he can investigate a smuggling operation that
leads back to her grandfather's estate. The couple agree to fake a loving
betrothal between them.

As Benedict and Camilla try to fool her relatives into thinking that
they are a happily married couple through a realistic performance, they
begin to fall in love with each other. However, both have hidden the truth
from the other. It seems that any long term relationship will not survive
once their personal agendas become known to each other. They also have to
worry about Benedict's enemies silencing them first before they can
straighten out the tangled web of their personal lives.

Anyone who reads the first chapter of a Candace Camp historical or
contemporary romance will immediately understand why she is considered one
of the greats and her books always best sellers. INDISCREET enhances that
deserved reputation because of the fast-paced and exhilarating story line,
and the droll, eccentric characters. This reviewer recommends this witty
tale to fans of the Regency romance sub-genre; who will love it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Indiscreet, Candace Camp, 26 Nov. 2007

"Their need for each other is less than discreet. He appears in Camilla Ferrand's life as quickly as the gunfire pursuing him. Is he a kidnapper? A thief? Or worse? Benedict Wincross, Lord Rawdon, is obviously no ordinary gentleman. But Camilla quickly realises he may be just what she needs to temporarily allay her family concerns. Benedict also needs something: to go undercover into Edgecombe, Camilla's family estate. They both have their reasons to claim a close relationship, but nothing prepares them for the rash, reckless and dangerous tumble into love."

This is a great historical romance, especially if you are looking for spice, entertaining arguments, adventure, romance and comedy. A thoroughly enjoying read!

This review is from: Indiscreet (Mills & Boon M&B) (Super Historical Romance) (Kindle Edition)
This story had me hooked from the first page. As always Candace Camp has written an enthralling romance with just the right amount of mystery and suspence.
Here are other stories I would recommend
A Seven Year Hitch
To Wed a Wild Lord (The Hellions of Halstead Hall)
