4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable adventure
Issues #1-4 of IDW’s mini-series featuring a Star Trek: The Next Generation / Doctor Who crossover comic is collected as Star Trek: The Next Generation / Doctor Who: Assimilation 2 Volume 1 (Star Trek/Doctor Who). The premise is fairly simple, the Borg, aided by the Cybermen, launch an unstoppable attack on a Federation planet. Meanwhile, in Ancient Egypt, the...

A very interesting story right out of the imagination of fans around the world. Nice to see after seeing fan made stories about a Doctor Who and Star Trek crossover. I think this is a great tale and I want to see more. Thank goodness I have already bought part 2. :-)

This is a pretty good story however it is let down by the poor graphics, at times the artwork actually detracts from the story. This is probably a book only for die-hard trek and who fans.

I hate this bum of a comic. The Star Trek point of view is stupid.I think this should be a Doctor Who book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Star Trek: The Next Generation / Doctor Who Assilmation 2 Vol 1, 2 April 2013
Star Trek: The Next Generation is an American science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry as part of the Star Trek franchise. Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord--a time travelling, humanoid alien known as the Doctor. I can get this as a paperback book because I can use it to read it myself. Doctor Who was the TV Programme I watched.

4.0 out of 5 stars Doctorin' The Alpha Quadrant, 25 Dec 2012

This review is from: Star Trek The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation Vol. 1 (Kindle Edition)
This was a much anticipated first read for my Kindle Fire as the graphics based file did not seem to be easily compatible to my Kindle Keyboard. The artwork is sublime and easily captures likenesses of main cast from both series. Enjoyable as a story so far, it's a shame it's not been released until both halves completed but not a long wait now. A little predictable but only so far as characters behaving typically or doing things you'd expect in crossing over, but it demonstrates in part the author/artists living up to expectations. Would be good for further spin-offs though it's not explained whether the storyline may seek to prevent a future crossover breach in the conclusion. Highly recommended for both Doctor Who and Trek. To IDW, please see if a similar crossover with Daleks and David Tennant can be achieved!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Warning, a graphic novel. Not a real one., 23 Aug 2014

I looked through the description before buying this novel, and maybe I did not look hard enough. I do not buy Graphics novels, They seldom give the same enjoyment of a good read. only reading two or three sentences before having to turn the page makes for a disjointed reading experience. I tried, and gave up after the first 4 or 5 pages. 104 pages. It is not even a chapter in real book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment, 13 Oct 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
What a disappointing read! The story itself is definitly average and fails to excite in any way. The book itself is extremely thin - i would want more 'beef' for my money. By far, the worst issue with this item is the art work; the art may be described by some as modern and, well, 'artistic'. It is not! It is extremely poor - its design is both blurred and vague and fails to deliver on the design concepts, scene settings or characterisations of these two famous universes.
My advice - take a look before you buy and make your own mind up...
