Seen the light. But it went out!
on 19 March 2013
14 months ago I wrote the following review. Since then 9 of these lamps have failed of the 13 I've bought so far. Regretfully I've at last stopped replacing them with the same type and moved on to others, none of which has so far gone out, and revised my review down to 2 stars. My previous review was as follows:
Tried lots to replace the eleven 35 and 50 watt mr16s in en suite and kitchen. After trying various mr16s (having to have new drivers because the old transformers were producing flickering) we eventually settled on these great 6W GU10s. They produce a most satisfactory colour - not green nor yellow but a really good white for our situations.
The beam is fairly concentrated, perhaps a little more than the old halogen's and in all gives a quite uplifting light on our mottled white worktops.
One of the nine (we bought two other broad beam 'chip' types where we wanted a wide spread) gave up after ten days or so, and was promptly refunded through Amazon, and we bought a replacement - which is still working fine, along with all the others, after 6 weeks or so.
