It looks like it will do the job though I'm not really sure

It is an ingenious little device which folds into such a size that it fits easily into the inside compartment of most banjo cases. That's what I was looking for and the price is right. It seems sturdy enough but only time will tell. It groans a bit under the strain of my heaviest open back banjo (Wildwood heirloom which is heavier than most open backs - it prefer my lighter banjos). But it seems to lock into place under the weight and though not as sturdy as your normal stands it seems to do the job. I only intend to use it as a portable stand away from home to keep the banjo off the ground. It's stable enough (if you flick or gently push the banjo it doesn't topple or sway) though perhaps it could be easily knocked over if you or someone else were careless and knocked into it with some force. I'm also confused by some of the publicity. It says it's a "banjo stand for ukulele, violin and mandolin and other instruments - is it or isn't for banjos?
