I love it. This is the perfect mix of the familiar and the new. Folky - but not too much so. Bella Hardy has a beautiful uplifting, melodic voice. I think this has just become my favourite Christmas album after only 2 listenings! I'm so glad I found it, I'll keep a copy in my car to chill out to in the inevitable seasonal traffic jams, and another at home that I can unwind to. Go on treat yourself!

If you're looking for the perfect antedote to the tired and jaded old seasonal offerings, then surely this has to be it. A lovely, fresh, uplifting variety of new and traditional fayre; one doesn't even need to be a dyed-in-the-wool folk fan to appreciate the rare, unique qualities of Peak District singer/fiddler Bella Hardy's distinctive, spellbinding voice. My personal favourites are the atmospheric, almost mediaeval "Holly and The Ivy","Sing Ovy, Sing Ivy" and "The Coventry Carol" but all the songs are hugely enjoyable. Great credit must also go to guitarist Anna Massie, and accordionist Chris Sherburn, whose individual styles compliment the purity of Bella's singing. Put the home made mince pies in the oven, pour a glass of Amontillado, sit back, listen and chillax. Joyeux Noël!

This is a wonderful, joyful album. The band is really fantastic with inventive arrangements and superb playing throughout. Bella's evocative singing is full of passion and the highly original interpretations of classic Christmas songs sit beautifully alongside the more traditional folk songs. This will be on repeat play all over the holiday season!

What a great combination of Christmas and folk ! The folk influence is clear, which I like a lot, but is also subtle enough to be accepted by my non-folkie family. I'm sure it will be played a lot in our house and car over the next four weeks. It is beautifully sung and arranged and I love it already. It will be a joy to rediscover this album with the Christmas decks for many years, I hope.
