5.0 out of 5 stars At last a GENUINE slow cooker but wrong description by MR
At last, a large slow cooker that doesn't burn food on extended timings. 65 watts/165 watts/230 watts (NOT 330 WATTS AS MORPHY RICHARDS CLAIM). Incidentally Morphy Richards are incapable of telling you these wattages, and I had to test the cooker myself.

Most other slow cookers are too hot to leave on whilst out for a day's work. The 165 watt setting is...

1.0 out of 5 stars not safe or clever
This item has a safety issue. The lid is to small and liquid escapes to where the element is. You would be mad to buy this, don't. Or if you do watch it constantly, don't leave the house with it on.

How it has received so many good reports is beyond me.

The 165 watt setting is ideal for a 6 litre cooker to slow cook. The only other one to do this is the Morphy Richards oval 3.5 litre cooker, but this suffered from a misleading "MED" setting which was really an AUTO setting. Forget Breville, forget Crockpot, forget Argos Cookworks, they are all just too hot.

This cooker has three genuine separate heat settings, the lowest being a good hot cupboard for keeping vol au vents warm, etc. True, it lacks an auto function, so you have to sear the meat before slow cooking, and the hot setting is not really hot enough to do this, but to me the low function is more useful. If only it had a genuine high setting of 330 watts as they claim , it would be ideal.

Informed MR about the misleading high wattage. Will add to this review when received. Also testing their new round 3.5 litre when it is received.

Absolutely love this, would recommend it to anyone and everyone, boil the kettle, put any meat you like in it and pour the water over it, cover and cook for 6 to 8 hours. will make the most delicious moist meat you have ever tasted. Stick some frozen vegetables and tinned potatoes in too and you've almost got a roast anybody would enjoy with as much effort as it takes to make a sandwich.

The slow cooker worked perfectly, its a good size, i can cook 4 good sized chops in it and vegetables plus potatoes and make a meal for 4 or more (other meat it could easily feed 6+) its very easy to clean, just lift out and wash in the sink and it doesn't seem to use much power either.

All in all a welcome addition to anybody's home.

The cooker works fine, excellent for stews, approx. 6 hours in the low position, the pot inside can be used as serving dish and looks good, nothing will stick to it, also cooks rice, rice pudding etc. excellent price.

Very, very big. I made a guess and got it wrong. It's a splendid device, suitable for feeding a street foe a day or family of five for a week. It really is that big- and lovely. If you want for 12 and can pick it up? Contact me.
