This is a wonderful baking book with a wide range of recipes from across the baking spectrum. I believe that this book would make an excellent gift for someone who has in interest in baking as the recipes range from the simple to the somewhat complex. Many of the recipes in this book are ones that parents will enjoy making with their children.

The range of celebrities who have provided recipes for this book is incredibly broad with some of the providing some information on the inspiration behind the recipe. A large number of professional/TV chefs have contributed recipes for this book. (see recipe list below)

I know some people complain about cookery books that do not contain photos of the finished product and you could say that this is the case here as there are no photos of the finished cake/biscuit etc. However, instead of photos we have wonderful illustrations of the cake/biscuit etc that leave you in no doubt as to what yours should look like once it comes out of the oven. I have personally baked 3 of the recipes from this book and all of them turned out as I had hoped.

The book is divided into the following chapters:

Cakes
Biscuits
Chocolate
Tarts' Pies and Puddings
Gluten-free/Healthy Options

The fact that the proceeds from this book go to a worthwhile cause provides another reason why I would highly recommend this book to you.

Below is a list of all of the recipes featured in this book. I hope this helps when it comes to you deciding whether or not to purchase this book.

What a fantastic bake book with very tempting recipes and great illustrations and best of all it's for charity, The Ben Kinsella Trust. It's clearly set out and the recipes are easy to follow. Makes a great present for my new daughter-in-law.

I tried out recipe for the lemon squares by Emma Forbes page 82. Ingredients list for toppping does not include flour, yet method says add lemon zest and juice and fold in flour . Have these recipes been tried out ? Also method says dust squares with 40g of icing sugar and base says cream 40 g of icing sugar with 100g of butter . Surely 40g to dust with, is excessive ? Linda Morris and Mary Berry have endorsed this book but have they tried out the recipes ? Ingredients for cakes are far too expensive to be making mistakes. Finished product was very sweet. A disappointing start ! Book could have included photos and contributor's reasons for selecting the recipe .

I loved receiving this book as a gift and have already begun trying some of the recipes, the results of which are delicious! With their delightful illustrations, these recipes are clearly set out and, therefore, extremely easy to follow. The added bonus is that these are favorite desserts that have been submitted by celebrities and all for a very worthy cause. This book would make a great gift for anyone on your gift list. I highly recommend it!!!
