Dermalex Repair Cream.
on 7 July 2016
Having suffered with dry skin and eczema myself for many years, I've learned through trial and error and research what works for me.This fragrance free cream is for dry to very dry skin conditions, and although aimed at young children, it could be used by anyone. It contains ceramides that have a water binding and barrier repair function along with absorbent alumino silicates and skin identical glycerin and some emollients. It would have been nice to see more skin repairing ingredients like glycosaminoglycans which include hyaluronic acid, with emollient non fragrant plant oils rich in gamma linolenic acid such as evening primrose and borage oils, along with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents added to this formula to boost its effectiveness. It comes in a hygienic tube, making it easy to use.
This is not a stand alone product and should be used with rich, fragrance free and soap free cleansing products that don't contain sodium lauryl sulphate, getting the right cleanser can both help prevent flare-ups and also treat eczema. Cleansing products and rich creams containing cholesterol, glycerin, colloidal oatmeal, urea and ceramides play a key role in helping to support the skins barrier repair function. First Aid Beauty, CeraVe, Eucerin, Aveeno, Avene and Cetaphil, all do good ones.
