Is it really 50+ years since these early Motown albums were first released? Yes! They are fun and interesting, but anyone only familar with middle and late period Motown may find them a bit hard to get into. But they're worth persevering with.

Berry Gordy was nothing of not one of the All Time Great Copycats/
He would copy anything thrown at him which pleases me immensley as the only thing better than a copycat is dozens of 'em/Gordy even copied himself when you realise for every TM hit there were soundalike followups
And 1961 was a great year for copying as Cameo Parkway and Phil Spector proved over and over again
America is also the place for copying on a major scale as they proved during the British Invasion.TM were possibly the first out of the traps when the Supremes'Liverpool album came out.No doubt it never escaped their attention that the Beatles had been instrumental in establishing the music coming out of Detroit
Copying is now a lost Art thanks to too many damn singer songwriters
And this album set on the Real Gone label is not only the first Mary Wells and Miracles LPs but a couple of total rareities in Great Gospel Stars and The Twistin' Kings (who were the early Funk Brothers) These 2 alone were not even known about till the CD Age and have brought totally daft money on E Bay
Only the Miracles LP and the Mary Wells were issued in the U K-little else was even known about

this was a huge suprise anybody who loves tamla will really enjoy this cd it starts with the veryvery early motown and you can almost sense the beginning of the way the company was formed some titles are a bit strange but to realise this this is how it all began and you can feel for the artists trying to make the big time plus the overall development is there
