This review is from: Mozart: Clarinet Quintet In A K581 (Colin Lawson/ The Revolutionary Drawing Room) (Clarinet Classics: CC0068) (Audio CD)
The delight of this music is that one can hear it as Mozart must have done as it is played on copies of the original instruments used in Mozart's days. Lovely music as always from Mozart.

my husband loved it! the music was absolutely wonderful. the clarinet music was exquisite
it was nice hearing it played on a bassett clarinet and Colin Lawson is a very sensitive player and made my husband think he was back in the 18th Century

I bought this on impulse having heard it on Radio 3. It is a lovely sensitive interpretation of music which I have love since childhood but which is now heard too often in unsuitable contexts. This recording brings back the magic.

I ordereed this CD on the basis of a review in the Financial Times. I was not disappointed. Colin Lawson does get a new depth of sound from the instrument that was specially made for him and the music is sublime.
