Please bring the sequels to the Kindle (if they exist)!
on 20 July 2015
This was a surprisingly enjoyable read! It has a nice, clean art style and I appreciated the characterization of the main character, Katie. She felt like a real person: she didn't magically know all the facts, despite her intelligence, and shows a sensible and realistic amount of fear despite her strength and bravery. I liked a lot of the background characters too, like Chelsea!
The plot is, of course, rather cliche, and certain plot points too (hence a 4* review instead of 5*), but I breezed through all 200 pages with ease as I quickly discovered that overall, the scenario is written very realistically, from the public's confusion and slowness to react with proper caution to the swift crackdown from the government.
I'm really, really sad to see that there's no sequel though! :( At least not on the Kindle, which is how I read this.
