4.0 out of 5 stars Woolagong to Woolich
It may not be a literary masterpiece, but I thought the writing was honest and very easy to read (but not so easy to put down). By the end of the book you will feel a kindred spirit towards Will and Kate. A must for all bikers and 'armchair' adventure riders, and a good point of reference to all who are seriously considering 'jacking in your current humdrum life' and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Should have remained a blog.
This was undoubtedly a great adventure and experience for the couple involved. Unfortunately, it doesn't make great reading. Obviously culled from a blog; where it should have remained. There are some great motorcycle travelogue out there (read Dan Walsh, Nathan Millward, Ted Simon etc.), but the relative ease of publishing these days means blog grade fare is sold for...

I loved it.

This was a great adventure written in a way that made it hard to put down, inspiring, informative, makes you laugh, you can almost feel and therefore share in there angst and almost despair in places, to feeling over all joy at obstacles overcome. Well done Will and Kate on your epic adventure, and thank you for sharing.

I'm not a motorcyclist but this was interesting, fun and inspiring. A great adventure, with challenges overcome along the way. A good read for anybody and a really useful resource for anyone planning a similar trip.

There are some great motorcycle travelogue out there (read Dan Walsh, Nathan Millward, Ted Simon etc.), but the relative ease of publishing these days means blog grade fare is sold for money it really doesn't deserve. This is OK, but really nothing special.

5.0 out of 5 stars what a great adventure...., 13 July 2013
This review is from: Wollongong to Woolwich (Kindle Edition)
Well it must be said that I bought this as an instinctive purchase a couple of weeks ago, it turned up and was delivered by hand! (now that's what you call great customer service!).

The book is thrilling, really good fun, a great read and you really feel an empathy with Kate and Will (these names sounds familiar doesn't it?)

Highly recommended!

PB.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superbly realistic and humanistic tale, 15 Feb. 2014

A great book, written with love and care. It describes the journey from a very personal angle. If you want details of tyre pressures or shock adjustments, then look elsewhere (There are plenty of tech geek forums/sites - home to armchair experts - 'All the gear, but no idea')
This is the diametric opposite - a notebook from a man and wife battling their way across some of the most hostile terrain on earth, focusing in the human interactions which are at he true heart if a memorable journey. Together as a team, using each other's strengths to supplement the weakness of the other, it's a true team effort where the pair are pushed to breaking point in order to complete an adventure.
If you've ever wondered "could I do this?" Then this is the book for you!!!
The author is also a great speaker and lecturer - go see him if you get a chance !

5.0 out of 5 stars A good read about a serious journey., 26 Mar. 2014

I read this after reading two other adventure motorcycle travel books and it was far and away the best. Well written, interesting and full of practical insights and helpful advice.

I enjoyed it, especially the way this very down to earth couple just 'got on with it' and soldiered on, come what may.

It is pretty concise and focusses very much to the trip. Thankfully the author did not feel the need to pad it out with page after page of tedious over description or personal views on politics etc.

I would recommend it. Its an honest readable travelogue, even if you are not into motorcycles..
