A book that made me say "wow". Repeatedly.

This is book is amazing. Mr Mooney's short stories often move me to chuckle and always to think, he very articulately expresses a lot of sentiments I have been pondering in recent months. For this reason I find him a very readable author anyway, but this book far exceeded my expectations. Far exceeded. I shan't give any plot spoilers, but the sheer number of points he manages to make in a very subtle analogous way is so clever and so refreshing. I often find Christian books to be quite repetitive, based on one good idea the author had, but Mick is happy to imply things and leave them, for the reader to pick up, or not. It's a refreshing rarity to be treated intelligently as a reader and not have the point rammed down ones throat, so to speak. I don't want to say much more for fear of giving away too much, but this book is fantastic. On so many levels, as a novel and a story, it's enjoyable. In terms of spiritual analogy, it's powerful and liberating. The characters are believable and the way the story unfolds is unexpected and quite wonderful. He paints such a beautifully picture of God, His far reaching love, grace and victory over death. I'd encourage everyone to read this. It's good news!
