5.0 out of 5 stars Ember Review!, 30 Aug 2012
This review is from: Ember (Death Collectors, Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
*SPOILERS READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!*

I actually asked Jessica if I could get an ARC of Ember and I was ecstatic when she said yes! I love any book by Jessica Sorensen and this book is another one that I love! This book is so dark compared to Jessica's other series' and it pretty much shows that Jessica can write anything! Ember Rose Edward is the main character in this book and I really liked her sometimes and also how she could sense peoples deaths. I have to say though that I didn't really like Ember when she agreed to go out on a date with Cameron and then she was kissing Asher! Yes people there is a love triangle in this book! Asher Morgan and Cameron Logan are the love interests of Ember and I am personally Team Asher as I don't think that Ember really likes Cameron as much as he likes her. But they are both hotties! Embers mother was really cruel to her when she hadn't taken her pills and I thought that she was downright mean to Ember! I liked Ember's brother, Ian though as he was always there for her and they got along really well. Raven is Embers best friend and I liked her to start with and then she turned quite nasty towards Ember and I had a strong dislike to her but then I felt sorry for her at the end of the book. I really liked the idea of plot and it held my attention all the way through the book. In this book there is a group called the Anamotti and they want to kill angels as they believe that they exist and I liked how we found out so much more about them as this book progressed. I also really enjoyed the whole story of the Grim Reapers and the Grim Angels and I found it interesting as I didn't know that much about them before reading this book. The ending of this book was a HUGE twist that was seriously unexpected and it had me on the edge of my seat. I also nearly cried! Jessica is my favourite author for cliffhangers as Embers does not disappoint! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series! The cover is also beautiful and Ember is a must read for all Jessica Sorensen fans! Huge thank you to Jessica for the ARC!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ember, the first in the death collectors series, 30 Aug 2012

Jessica Sorensen's ember, from the death collectors series, is a very well writer book introducing the characters. In the way that you think you know their personality and then, when they get what they think they want, they completely change. I couldn't put it down it is now one of my favourite books :) It also has great ideas and variations of death and how to cope with insanity running through your family. The underlying rule: "if there's one thing you need to know about life, it's to never trust anyone or anything. life is a freaking mind game and you and I are the pawns."

Incredible book, absolutely amazing! I really didn't expect it to be how it was but yet again Jessica didn't fail to disappoint, she never does! All of her books are fantastic and once again here is another book perfectly written by Jessica! I honestly recommend it to everybody! 5 stars for another of her books! If your interested in paranormal, fantasy, supernatural añything like that- read it! You will love it, just like me and my daughter have:) Jessica Sorensen is one of the best writers ever, all her books have so much energy on them, they always leave you on the end of your seat wanting to read more and more! This one is no different, I got it read in one day I was so entangled in it. You really connect with the characters too! Like I said an amazing book, and perfectly writen! Thankyou Jessica for another magnificent book!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, 29 Aug 2012

This review is from: Ember (Death Collectors, Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
Wow! Jessica Sorensen has gone darker in this series compared to her others, and I've got to say. I like it.

So the story follows Ember, a young girl who can see how someone will die by touching them. For obvious reasons she finds that she is a bit of a loner and shies away from people, except for her best friend. When she gets dragged to a drunken teen party by her best friend one night her life starts to change, and not always for the better.

The only criticism with the book is that the guys are "too hot" now I'm not sure whether its because it's from the point of view of Ember who thinks they are totally hot, or if its because its a typical teen novel thing to do. The author does try to address this in the story line. But, it still seemed a little odd that no one ever notices her or anything then all of a sudden two REALLY hot guys are after her.

Other then that it was brilliant. It was full of twists and turns in the story line, which kept me guessing. I'm getting bored of those story lines that are predicable. There was action, humour, a bit of romance (with edginess to it). I'm actually tempted to read it again tonight it was that good. Jessica told me that she had the idea for this story in her head for a while, just waiting to write it. We are both glad that she finally did.

I'd definitely give it a 5 out of 5. A highly recommended read.

Loved this book. I find Jessica's style of writing very easy going and the subject matter makes a refreshing change. Can't wait for the next book, will Asher come back?

I chose this book on a whim, so glad I did!!! I really enjoyed the fact this is a story with a difference. The main character, Ember is something different. Her friend, Raven is funny. And then there is Asher........is he or isn't he a good boy????

Recommended reading if you like twists.
