As per the title, this is NOT the 'PremierColor' version (which is the U2713H) but - in all practicality you do not need that unless you are a professional photographer / editor (in which case, I'm sure you'd be looking at NEC / Eizo screens!) - and even then, run of the mill AMD / NVidia cards will not give you what you want (10 bit output from source)...

Additionally, it should be noted that the Amazon info says that this comes with a mini displayport to displayport cable - that is NOT correct, it only comes with a VGA and a DVI cable - DisplayPort is the ONLY way (with this monitor) to get the full 2560x1440 resolution *Correction - as per comments below, DVI is also capable of full 2560x1440 output*!!! - A perfectly good cable can be found here for pocket money prices... StarTech.com Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter Cable - Video/Audio Cable - Mini-DisplayPort (M) - 20 pin DisplayPort (M) - 1.8 m - Latched

For us mere mortals (who have a DisplayPort, for full resolution - read - Apple, or Dell device) the U2713HM is a brilliant look through the peephole of high-end screens - definitely better out there, but - at a fair amount more money,,,,

Colour purity is great (if running sRGB mode) - takes a little getting used to if you're coming from a consumer grade monitor (looks a little yellow, and the colours look a little muted - but, that is how it is 'supposed' to be!) - or, you can use the Dell software to set up 'auto' mode which switches colour profiles depending what application you're running (confirmed on Windows - unsure about OSX), screen real estate - is, as you'd expect, brilliant...

Zero stuck pixel policy on Dell U series monitors gives you a sense of security knowing that the panel will be perfect, and - if it isn't you can swap it out for a new one, with no quibbles (mine came with no pixel problems at all!)...

Inclusion of four port self powered USB3 hub on monitor (with supplied cable). and audio out through DisplayPort (either with Dell's own soundbar, or via 3.5mm jack plug to your speakers / amp [not supplied] is the icing on the cake...

Don't be put off by some reviews online regarding cross-hatching / backlight bleeding etc. - that was on monitor revision A01 (which - as early runs were logically those sent to reviewers), but - if you look online for details on the A00 revision (which all monitors made after February 2013 should be) these problems are eliminated...

Sure, you could end up with a lemon, but - odds on, you'll get a fantastic screen at half the price of the equivalent Apple Thunderbolt display (that, ironically uses exactly the same screen panel!)

Well worth it in my mind!

I purchased this model to home after being satisfied with the older model U2711, which only weakness is bit too grainy anti-glare coating. U2713HM's anti-glare coating is good. I guess that color reproduction is also good based on the reviews. Viewing angle is little limited, but the real show stopper is the quite strong uneven backlight bleeding, which spans from bottom-left to top-right corner. In the office use screen is ok, but I can't recommend it for media playback etc.

Update: Got a cluster of dead pixels to the left upper portion of the display after using the display almost a year. It was promptly replaced with refurbished display, that has a way more uniform backlight (still minor bleeding from the right bottom corner). So after all, I'm satisfied with the display & dell support.

Been using this new monitor for a week now. Very good monitor!
Main reason I replaced my Dell U2413HM with this one is for the high resolution. This is particularly helpful for my photo editing work. it gives a lot of extra screen "room" for Lightroom. And the pixels are pin sharp! The colour reproduction is very good and with no light leak on the edges. The entire viewing area is very evenly lighted.
Although this is not 4k level, it is still offering very high resolution and good all rounded performance. Did some research on the 4k ones available on the market. They're either too expensive or very low performance. I would give it another year or two to develop until I'd give it a try. For now, the Dell U2713 is by far the better choice!
Big extra benefit that the USB ports on the side of the screen are USB 3. (which i didn't know when ordered) I've tried the connection and the speed is fast as you expected from USB3.
For those who have used Dell U series before, this is holding all the high standard with extra!
Note, the DVI cable comes with the monitor is dual link and the USB cable is SuperSpeed USB (USB3). Therefore make sure you use the ones come with this monitor and NOT your old cables for things to work!

This was my fourth attempt at buying a U2713HM and this one finally looks good. Initial worries that the calibration report appeared to be for a different monitor were, hopefully, unnecessary. Previous returned units were rev A01 and with earlier manufacture dates than this good unit. This one is A00 (counter intuitively a more recent rev) and has a March 2014 manufacture date.

As expected from other reviews this A00 unit is much better than my two previously tested A01 units. Still a little backlight bleed (additional to the slightly above average `IPS glow') but an acceptable amount that I'm happy to live with given the otherwise high spec/quality and low price. Also these minor shortcomings are only obvious with dark content viewed under low ambient light. Set to the sRGB profile (that's the profile that gets factory calibrated), dial the brightness down to around 35% and you're good to go.

Serial number confusion - The serial number on the calibration document did not seem to match the serial number on the monitor itself. Given a major selling point for this model is its claimed colour accuracy, and a significant reason for my purchase, failing to have a correct colour calibration paperwork would be annoying.

Confusion explained - After having the same apparent serial number mismatch on a replacement (thanks Amazon!)I decided to contact Dell directly. Dell support were pleasant and efficient, explaining that the serial number is divided into two parts and only the second part is the serial number that uniquely identifies each particular monitor. The first few digits identify other details such as what type of package bundle the monitor is part of. My serial numbers only failed to match for the first few digits so this sounded at least vaguely plausible. If true my calibration document and monitor serial numbers do match after all.

Another Amazon reviewer reports potentially the same mismatch. Perhaps Dell should make this clearer - It seems reasonable to expect the monitor serial number on the calibration document to exactly match the one on the monitor itself, or is that just me!

What can I say :) this monitor is truly amazing, purchased from Amazon not a seller refurbished. Received within a week even though the delivery at time of purchase was 30 days plus. Well packaged, delivery info right down to the knock on the door...... I work with a lot of graphics/artwork etc., have it set up for RGB, the colours are very clear and sharp... very happy, would highly recommend, well worth the expense.

This product had some of the most mixed reviews out of anything I have purchased on Amazon. The major issue being backlighting bleed. Well I can happily say the version I received from Amazon in July 2014 (which was version A00 manufactured in December 2013) has no issues at all. The image is clear, there is no backlighting leakage, and the screen is awesome. I use this screen almost exclusively for photo editing and I could not be happier with it.

A very good monitor with an excellent display. Easy to connect to my macbook pro retina via the mini display port and works very well with maximum resolution.

This is a great monitor and is much better than the equivalent mac thunderbolt display.

Great quality panel with a lovely matt anti-glare coating.

This is a very Good Monitor. But Make sure to use the DVI Cable which Dell provides you with the Monitor to connect the Monitor to the Computer. Do not use your Old DVI Cable. It will not work.

The Image quality is Excellent at the highest Resolution of 2560 X 1440. But You need a Good Graphics Card (I have a Radeon R9 280X) in your Computer to Support the Resolution. I did a lot of Research before buying this Monitor and my Graphics Card and it paid off well. I am very happy with the Display what I see on my Screen. "GORGEOUS"

The Screen and the Graphics Card should both be Compatible. If you have an inferior Graphics Card, it will not be able to deliver the highest Resolution of 2560X1440, which the Monitor can support, and you will not be able to see the Best Image Quality which this Monitor can Display.

If you like big monitors and good quality displays, this one is for you. I switched from a U2413M (or HM, can't remember exactly).
I like 16:10 better, but this one is so big, you don't notice the difference. Maybe a bit too big :)
Picture quality is amazing, the resolution is breathtaking, color and viewing angle is perfect.

One note though: You can NOT drive this display to the full resolution on the HDMI port! As a matter of fact, 99% of displays are like this, HDMI only goes up to FullHD (talking about the panel, not the cable or the standard). So if you plan to use this monitor with the full resolution (and you WANT to use it!) than you have to use a DVI or DP cable. Keep that in mind, otherwise you'll have to plan your cabling again - like me :P
