strong, but not enough for me :(
on 13 September 2013
The cut outs are all placed perfectly and plugs prevent ingress of dirt. It doesn't interfere with the functions of the phone, allows the headphone to connect and the power cable to sit in. The case is sturdy and affords good protection to the sides and back of the phone and the screen cover doesn't take too much off the sensitivity of the touch screen. This will easily take a few drops and knocks and the silicone layer will absorb some of the impact of a fall.
In all I was really happy with the case, but I work in an environment where the phone takes a real bashing and handling with oily, greasy hands. After a few months it developed a few hairline cracks. These eventually developed into larger cracks and the case simply fell apart. I am not saying this is a bad case, as it took a beasting and the oils probably waged a chemical warfare on the plastics of the case. I would say that the phone was well protected and still looks as good as new.
If the phone is likely to get dropped or bashed around on a regular basis, then it may be worth looking at the Griffin Survivor case. It adds immense bulk, but has much better protection. If you are an occasional dropper, then the otter box will suit your needs without adding too much bulk.
