When the post lady drops a book with the title "Naked Delirium" through your letterbox, you know that you are in interesting read. So, I was prepared for some fairly explicit erotica, even some heavy sex -- what I wasn't prepared for was writing of such quality that made this anthology pure pleasure to read. These stories are all from the very best of creative minds -- five writers who understand how to tell a story and who know all about atmosphere, tension and pace -- and, of course erotica. They all take up the theme of sex in altered states, and draw the reader inexorably into the darker side of desire. Giorgio Verona's superb erotic illustrations will delight and enhance the reader's experience.

In "Sugarshuttle Express," Sommer Marsden opens the anthology. We read of a journey through nature, punctuated by sex in all its glorious aspects. It's a celebration of sex and sexuality; a twosome, a threesome, sex while watching others have sex -- the real sense of being a voyeur, you join in the action, but in secret. Danny can't take his eyes off Wren and Wren has taken a drug. An hallucinogen, with the mythical, mind expanding properties of the Mandrake. Vision is enhanced, so is hearing, so is the effect of another's on skin.

Vanessa de Sade's contribution to the anthology is "Gilinda and the Wicked Witch." The sex in this story is immediate and relentless. The sultry Gilinda's eyes are as green as the aquatic world she inhabits -- a world where the water, steeped in ancient, magical minerals from times long ago, soothes, stimulates, intoxicates, seduces. The women wait, in a sexually heightened prayer, for Gilinda's touch at their door. Only Gilinda can bring them the release they crave. Then Gilinda meets Laura...

Kristina Wright takes up a tale from the dawn of time. In "Lilith Returns" Adam, the first man, confronts his wife Lilith. She has come to claim him once again. Adam knows he shouldn't, but Lilith does not deal with rejection generously. And Adam can't help himself; her seduction is powerful and inevitable. It has always been so from the very beginning. Lilith is both adversary and lover. With the power that can only come from God, Lilith, Adam and Eve, through various body hosts, have made it through to the twenty first century and their ancient story of lust, love and need has repeated itself over and over again. But this time it is different. Eve, the passive woman, whom ever since her first disobedience and the subsequent expulsion from the garden, orchestrates a high voltage threesome that heralds a spiritual awakening and brings their agonizing struggle to a resolution.

Velvet Tripp tells a haunting, frightening story of sex and death. In "A Woman Possessed," Velvet writes about pleasure and pain. Pain and pleasure; an enticing story, luring the reader into a world of extreme bondage and sadomasochism. There is possession by a powerful spirit who must be vanquished for the sake of sanity and sanctity. And there is an invasion and trespass. Stella wakes the afternoon of the night before. She's sore and aching in all the places that tell her she's had a wild and ravaging night. Her friends tell her of her bestial behaviour; but Stella cannot remember a thing. Stella and her friends are followers of Pagan rites and rituals; they are healers too and it is during one of their ceremonies that Adolpha has slipped, unbidden through a crack in time. Adolpha must leave Stella and move on to the place where her spirit can rest; but can she be compelled to leave Stella's ravaged body?

And lastly Fulani gives us "Smoking Hot," an intriguing story of the after effects of hypnosis. Hannah wants to quit her forty a day smoking habit. She wants to be released from the control of addiction. After her session with the hypnotist, we see that Hannah has relinquished one type of control for another; the suppressed desires of her subconscious. We cling to our illusion of control, we cling to it tightly. If we relinquish control will we be spinning helplessly in a vortex? Not if someone is there to give the order. Hannah submits, thankfully, greedily to her primal urges; lips stretched, jaw hinged achingly open, she accepts what is given, willingly. Bondage and exquisite pain are the initiation rites that now dominate Hannah's entire existence.

As a lover of words and language, even to the point of being picky about how those words are organised on the page, I was delighted with everything the anthology had to offer. Five wonderful writers, experienced in the genre. Five stories; not for the faint hearted. Erotica that teeters on the edge of classic pornography. This will be an anthology that lovers of erotica will talk about in years to come. A catalyst that will force other writers of erotica to aim ever higher. And Giorgio Verona's beautiful erotic illustrations will make this anthology into a real collector's item.
Kojo Black has done a superb job of compiling and editing this anthology for Sweetmeats Press, from his intuitive selection of these exquisite stories, to placing them in a compelling order. You cannot help yourself, you have to keep reading.

When you read as much erotica as I do, you need something a little bit different, something of exceptional quality to get you really excited. Fortunately, there are many gifted writers in the genre and occasionally all my needs are met in one eclectic, varied volume, such as this one from Sweetmeats Press.

The stories in this collection are from five different but very accomplished authors, each with their own strengths. The theme is altered states of consciousness and each author has interpreted this theme in a very different way.

In Sommer Marsden's Sugarshuttle Express, we experience hallucinogenic hardcore. "Simplistic sex," Sommer tells us at one point, "which is often the best." Extremely graphic, high-octane, high-impact simplistic sex.

The sensual sorcery of Vanessa de Sade's Gilinda and the Wicked Witch is almost a relief, set as it is in a beautiful Edwardian spa. But it's not long before the flame of passion quickens and some seriously sexual secrets spume forth in frothy purple prose. It is a long story and, be warned, there is no respite. It's a coiling tornado of explicit, ecstatic and voluptuously sinful depravity.

Kristina Wright mercifully introduces a cooling draught of intellectual rigour into the anthology. Her thoughtful tale about Lilith, Adam and Eve encourages you to pause for reflection in each of its three beautifully crafted sections. We get the history of humanity summed up first from Adam's, then from Lilith's and finally from Eve's perspective. There are some surprises here, not least in the elegant and effortless way in which Kristina weaves so much lewd sexual activity into her philosophical thesis. In a very strong anthlology, this story appealed to me the most, with its artful feminism, delicious sensuality and perfect rhythms.

After the gentle ironies of Lilith Returns, Velvet Tripp's story comes as a shock. Occult, brutal, Gothic, orgiastic, debauched and demonic, this is a very detailed description of an unusual exorcism. At least I hope it's unusual. Sometimes I think I've led a very sheltered life. I don't even have a tattoo.

And after that confession, here's another. I read Fulani's story first. It's called Smoking Hot and, believe me, it is. Fulani's confident, direct, hard, assured style is perfectly suited to the subject matter of a conservative woman suddenly yielding to the dark promptings of her subconscious sexual desires. I knew right away I was in for a treat and I wasn't disappointed.

Each story is available individually as an e-book, but why not treat yourself to the full experience by buying them together as a paperback. Then you can have a sensual riffle under the duvet of a morning. I've been riffling repeatedly since I got this and my mind hasn't been the same since.

Im so impressed with the quality of this book, Kojo has compiled this book with a perfect mix of dark but sensual stories and managed to push the bar high with such incredible imaginations and creative writers. These novellas are so different and hit that line of scandal and shocking ideas.

The first in this brilliant line up is The Sugar Shuttle Express by Sommer Marsden

I really enjoy Sommer's books and I love her creative style and this was no different, if anything she certainly raised the bar with this fun sexy novella as its so different.
Both Danny and Wren are friends but Wren doesn't really understand just how much Danny likes her, they both go on a journey; not just the 3 day hike but by taking an aphrodisiac and hallucinogen drug for the weekend; which allows them to relax and embrace their sexuality, enhancing touch, hearing and feelings especially Wren; as she starts to lose her inhibitions. They enjoy sex together in altered states, threesomes and a super hot voyeurism chapter as they become engrossed into watching two men have sex; which was so hot.

Gilanda and the wicked witch by Vanessa De Sade.
Wow what an unusual but slightly odd story, this is a magical resort where the spa's waters make you feel erotic. Gilanda is the night manager and enjoys choosing a door to knock on and someone to enjoy her night with during the haunting chanting by the other women of the spa. But Gilanda has fallen for a certain PC detective who has come to investigate the strange noises and cries coming from the spa. Its a novella of sexy flashbacks as they share their sexual past encounters, I did find this quite an unusual novella for me.

Lilith Returns by Kristina Wright
I loved Kristina's bold idea of combining religious theology and mythology, I really enjoyed this story, but I feel some will be shocked at this brilliant combination of bringing the demon Lilith who wants to seduce Adam and Eve in this powerful highly erotic novella with deeper meaning than just a normal story. Using different body hosts all three of them encountered sex and love together in earlier times and now Lilith returns for more and to try and seduce Adam. It follows onto a steamy passionate threesome with Eve which then begins an excruciating struggle which could change man-kind forever?
A deep brilliantly written novella, I would have loved to read a full novel on this, it could go so much further.

A woman possessed by Velvet Tripp
I really loved this novella as I enjoy reading about the paranormal and enjoy slightly rougher bondage and sex so this story and plot really appealed to me.
To some they may find it slightly uncomfortable to read about a woman who is possessed without her consent and is forced into extreme bondage and submission, something she has secretly wanted but never gone to far, till now.
Being healers and followers of pagan rituals Stella and her close friends devise a powerful healing spell for a friend in a coma using sex magic. This goes really wrong when Stella is possessed by Adolpha a sadomasochist who is looking for her long lost lover and obsessed with receiving extreme hardcore punishment...she is a ancient pain-slut of worlds gone by and completely takes overs Stella's body and mind till she has no recollection and wakes up to find herself aching and bruised with no memory of the night before.
Finally her friends realise Stella's unusual behaviour during sex wasn't her and discover she is possessed and devise a clever imaginative plan to exorcise Adolpha; but she is of course reluctant now she has found a young sexy body to play with .
I really loved this novella it was infact my favourite of the five and would have loved to have read a full novel on this story, it was written so naturally and the characters so relatable. The ending was brilliant and so sensitive I loved it.

Smoking Hot by Fulani
Another creatively written novella, where Hannah seeks help to kick her 40 day habit and it works...but is it replaced by something else more primal.
We follow Hannah as the unintentional side effect of kicking the habit has unlocked her inhibitions and she finally gives into her most wanton desires of bondage and submission. This leads to a really hot and steamy encounter of full on BDSM with a total stranger and hot lesbian sex and accepting something she has always wanted but now feels she cannot refuse and accepts willingly.

Overall Opinion
My favourites were Woman Possessed and Lilith returns, and combined with the most gorgeous illustrations from Giorgio Verona really made this book a fantastic read.
I also have to say the quality of these paperbacks from Sweetmeats press is outstanding, you are getting slightly larger paperbacks with excellent quality paper too.
Kojo made a great job of choosing the stories and putting them together, you have everything from sensitive virgin sex, twosomes, voyeurism, gay sex, bi and lesbian sex, threesomes to hardcore bondage and extreme submission.
I have to stress its not for the feint hearted or those that just enjoy romance and vanilla sex, its for those that want something different from their erotica with some beautifully drawn illustrations in between that really adds to your imagination giving a really enjoyable reading experience.
