Beautifully written. Put me through a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish. I hope the author writes a second book. I'd love to know that he's finally able to have a happy, healthy life of which he is, indeed, absolutely worthy.

Written in a diary style with bite-sized chapters, this book is hard to put down. The author, writing about personal life events, manages to convey a sense of confusion intertwined with religious conviction well.

4 stars purely because I would have liked the author to delve a bit more into his history of abuse as I feel this was sometimes revisited throughout the book without conveying any more info to the reader.

Based on factual events in the author's life, this truly gripping story of neglect, surprise, misfortune and awakening is sometimes disturbing to read and always difficult to put down. Every chapter is full of intrigue and insight into a very difficult life and the mental struggles endured as a result; one cannot help but feel deep empathy towards the author.

I would have given this five stars (it really is a book you should read!) but the story confused me at one point and a couple of the chapters are a bit short but this is understandable as this is meant to be a short story. These are very minor points however and I intend to re-read the book to make sure I'm not in error.

There's so much to this story that it certainly demands to be told in full and I hope the author has the time to write such a sequel. This is an incredibly well-written book which is compelling to read. It would probably make a great movie too.

A gripping story of a devout Christian and his dawning realization that his belief system is false. He knows his subject well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A moving eye opener, 13 Jan 2013

This review is from: No Kingdom Come (Kindle Edition)
A very moving and eloquently wrote book with a story that has to be heard. The story is a real life and heartfelt account of the torments of the author. It portrays wonderfully the problems he has faced in his life and the elations of finding God and finally belonging to something wonderful and serene and then the shocking discoveries that followed. A wonderful text of how personal torment, confusion and religious conviction can mix to create an emotional and turbulent atmosphere for those encapsulated in it and the long term affects it can have on people.

With this book the author has a story that needs to be told. It is tastefully written and every pages comes from the heart. I hope the author has time to write a squeal and I hope he finally finds both peace with who he is now and gains the life and respect he so evidently deserves.

All in all a must read.

Short but very interesting read.

Hopefully the author will come to realise how much better off he without the shackles of his previous thinking. I wish him much future happiness.

thanks for a very rewarding read
