4.0 out of 5 stars "..GREAT HORROR SEQUEL.."
THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS 1988

Its great to see Michael Myers return after a few years break since the second movie, part 3 went in a weird direction and broke the franchise up a bit, Michael Myers returns to Haddonfield to create more havoc, this time he's after his niece (Danielle Harris) and will kill anyone who gets in his way, its a great film with a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Stick with your old anchor bay dvd!!
Halloween 4 arrives on blu ray thanks to anchor bay and the result is best described as mediocre.
The blu ray transfer just looks like an upscaled dvd,the picture is mostly soft and lifeless and the audio does not seem to have been improved much.
There are moments in the film where you get to see some sharp and defined images and there are also times when the...

4.0 out of 5 stars The second best Halloween to date, 9 Sept. 2000
By A Customer
If you're new to the Halloween series, you'd better start with Halloween 1, which even after six sequels is the best to date. Halloween 2 follows on directly from H1, but doesn't have the same feel about it. Halloween 3 has nothing to do with the Michael Myers saga, except that H1 is seen on a character's TV screen, and may as well be avoided (plus it has an extremely grating theme!) - I'm rather surprised it's even been released on DVD.
If you ignore the fact that the character of Dr Loomis should have died at the end of H2 (slightly disfigured after being the centre of a huge gas explosion! ), then Halloween 4 is rather entertaining stuff. It doesn't quite live up to the original but isn't too bad, with Ellie Cornell making a pretty good 80s JLC. But my recommendation is to ignore H5 which promptly lost the plot, with Ms Cornell's character being killed in unspectacular form at the beginning and an element of telepathy being introduced - not Halloween guys... It's much better to jump to Halloween H20 after number 4, if just for Michelle Williams from Dawson's Creek.
In short, this film is pretty good considering the material it inherites from Halloween 2's ending.

3.0 out of 5 stars There is something wrong when Michael Return's this time..., 9 Jan. 2008

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Halloween 4 [DVD] (DVD)
Michael reawakens from a 10yr coma and goes after his niece, Jamie played by Danielle Harris who stars in Rob Zombies new Halloween film "Halloween"
Dr Loomis Returns has he finds out that michael is missing and is determind to find him.
Storywise, this isnt has clever nor has suspenseful has the first 2 and of course to fit in with A nightmare on elm street and Friday the 13th series they upped the gore not much but is a definate upper, thats not a bad thing.
Halloween 4 is a decent Sequel which provides enough shocks to keep you entertined and for halloween fans a mention of Laurie Strode is a nice touch.
this film isnt a let down but it could of been better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the original, 17 Oct. 2000
By A Customer
Not as good as the original but then they never are. Halloween 4 is centred around Jamie Lloyd. Jamie is the only living relative of the mental serial killer, Michael Myers. Michael is trying to kill off all of his living relatives in a pagan conspiracy, which is being controlled by higher powers. The only thing is, Michael always seems to get the wrong person in his killings, he never seems to get who he is after, maybe this time he will....Watch and find out. A great movie that I could watch over and over, one for horror fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Sequel , Which Is Damn Rare......................, 9 Dec. 2001
By A Customer
This is a worthy squel to Halloween (which might i add was the best horror film of all time bar none) considering HALLOWEEN 3 was complete and utter boredom . This returns to the formula of Micheal Myers . It is a really good film and the ending has a really chilling final part . There is blood , guts and extremely strong language throughout although this doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the film . It's also actually quite suspenseful and scary/jumpy in a few parts . Best sequel except for HALLOWEEN 2 . Go Geddit .

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my fave horror movies!, 2 Feb. 2008
By
This review is from: Halloween 4 [DVD] (DVD)
I enjoyed the first and second but wasnt keen on the third, it went off the plot a bit. However this simply tells the same story as the first two halloween movies, yes its the same storyline over and over again but it never seems to bore me. I actually find the stalker scary. There isnt much gore in these films, but that doesnt ruin the story. I mostly love the suspense of a man stalking numerous people, its what makes Halloween a good movie. I simply love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Return Of The 'Boogey Man', 6 May 2003
This review is from: Halloween 4 [DVD] (DVD)
This is a great film, admittedly not as creepy as the first and there is a higher degree of gore/violence this time around but not overly so. The sad thing is; the events that happen in this film, and indeed parts 5 & 6 seems to be ignored in the later H20 but nonetheless it’s still thoroughly enjoyable.

4.0 out of 5 stars He's back..., 20 Mar. 2000
By A Customer
A much better sequel which follows 10 years after Hallowwen 2. (Halloween 3 had nothing to do with the Myers story) There is more action, more violence and this installment is far more watchable that Halloween 2.
