Lasted a month, however when working it was fine. I agree with others that the base station is very poor and will cause problems unless the manufacturers put right and have a recall or issue modifications. I have decided to ask for a replacement to give the phone one more time to prove me wrong.

I'm pleased with this 'phone. It has been working fine for me. I decided, based on earlier reviews, to avoid any potential battery problems by charging up two high capacity ones I already had, prior to receiving the 'phone and I used them instead of the ones supplied. So no problems there. The only fairly minor points I would make are that the display is a tad small but the bright colour display actually makes up for that - the 'phone itself is surprisingly small, by todays standards. Also, there is no quick way to silence the ringer. Normally 'phones have a dedicated button for this, but with the Dualphone you have to make your way through the various options to get to the appropriate setting. I intend to suggest that this is 'fixed' in a future software release.

Love this, and for me it has worked like a charm. As previous reviewers have mentioned, you will need to get additional rechargeable batteries as the ones provided are completely inadequate. The screen is a little small and would benefit from being a bit bigger. Apart from these 2 niggles, the phone is working as expected and it's great to be able to choose between using the landline and SkypeOut. We have been using SkypeOut as the default calling option and it's saving us money already, we've not used the landline for any calling out, other than receiving calls. It was easy to setup and the call quality is great.

If you understand the niggles, then you'll have no problem with this. I'll be buying an additional phone at some point in the future.

Call quality is great and it seems to work well, with only a minor issue once whereby it didn't ring on incoming calls. Logging out and logging back in again (on the phone) solved that problem.

The only other thing to note is that the supplied rechargeable batteries are utter crap and have had to be replaced. Wasn't worth the hassle of sending the whole thing back for that though (and any replacement would likely have the same cheap and nasty batteries). So if you're buying this, you may want to add a 2 x AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries to your order.

All in all, a good way to have a dedicated business number without paying out for a second phone line.

I was reminded today just what a terrific product the 4088 is. I bought mine ages ago and previously had the 3088. I have been using Skype since there were only 250,000 users on line! I had a problem in losing my contact list so I dropped Dualphone an email and they were back in 24 hours with a concise, simple solution. They also suggested I download the latest firmware but when I did that I discovered it had already happened automatically.
There is only one problem with using Skype in that the length of time it rings cannot be extended so it tends to go to voicemail quite quickly. That's not the phone as I understand it.

Easy to use BUT the display is a bit rubbish
Oh the battery life is crap, cheap low capacity rechargeable battery provided; a bit disappointed for something at this high price.

I was unable to start setting this up for some time. When I did, I was getting on all right but I found that it thinks its batteries are depleted in only a few hours and stops working. In fact the batteries are fully charged, so there is a fault in the phone. I then looked at reviews and found other people had the same experience. In my case it had been some time after purchase before I got round to setting it up, by which time the returns window had closed. It looks like a total loss of money, but I will try the guarantee now. I hate it when people ship faulty goods and waste my time.

I had the previous model of this Dualphone which I liked, so I decided to try the new one. I attempted to connect the phone to the base station maybe 20 times to no avail. I spent the entire day reading up on forums only to find out that this is a common issue with the phone. Don't waste your money and then suffer the frustration that I went through. avoid at all costs.

The deal I have with Skype to call the USA is good. The handset was straightforward to set up. However, in use, it's blue flashing side-light, set off by incoming messages on the regular land line, WILL NOT stop. It constantly flashes very brightly such that it has to be covered up. It also runs non-stop a message to say 'Downloading contacts' and seems to have 'frozen' in this mode. Overall there needs to be a few basic manufactured improvements. Operating instructions were just about non-existent. Research on-line was necessary.

have used similar for years now... Bought this set in Oct 2012 and after 3 months the first cradle stopped working, but we managed wih one cradle and two phones... About 4 months ago it kept dissconecting although all connections were secure and last week the connection just stopped - it seems the little box is now also not working. I have requested to have it replaced, but suspect guarentee has run out so will have to invest in another set, but I will make sure it is not the same brand.
