Beautiful Animation but too dark for PG 13
on 11 November 2013
In 1986 Frank Miller created a new style Batman comic book that shock the fans and the world, 10 years in the new millennium it became a movie in 2 parts, this is the 1st part.
Batman has not been seen for ten years. A new breed of criminal ravages Gotham City, forcing 55-year-old Bruce Wayne back into the cape and cowl. But, does he still have what it takes to fight crime in a new era?
to make Batman dark tune but still in a comic fantasy world to life with actors is not easy, but it succeed when you do it with animation. Batman the dark night returns is done beautifully, sometimes I feel some Batman movies are too dark like Burtons or too much reality like Nolans or too much comic like Schumacher, but here they do it all together and it melts very well.
The only nit pick I have that is this movie is PG 13, sorry kids but I think this movie is too dark and violent for kids, it should be rated R.
One more thing I don't give much to the mutant leader, he feels more like a teenage mutant ninja turtle villain then a Batman villain, but that's just a small nit pick
