TOP 500 REVIEWERon 16 October 2012
Dan Snaith is better known as Caribou. So you may be forgiven not making any connection between that body of work and this. However, on this form Caribou might be a thing of the past as this is a solid collection of dance riffs and tunes.

Each track starts out with a beat and riff and then kind of explodes into action. Listen to the snippet of Yes I Know on this page and you don't hear the moment ten seconds after the fade out where it explodes into life with horns and vocals. Its this layered approach which keeps you interested and eventually leaving the tracks in your consciousness. Pairs is another fine example with its African influence obvious from the start and then its turns into a house music track. This is an album with lots of influences from Africa, Miami House and soul. But at its heart its a great dance collection

Snaith may have made his name as Caribou. This will push him further forward. Its a great collection and for my money better than anything he has delivered before.

This short Daphni album brilliantly adds to material we had heard from Dan Snaith's (Caribou) club alter ego.
Yes I know, Ye Ye, and Ahora may have already been enjoyed by some people, but there are plenty more great tracks to enjoy.
From the sounds and beats of the album you can tell this is a album designed with the club scene in mind, even if the tracks might be shorter than they would be / are live. However, if you are looking for an extension of Caribou's Swim you will likely not be disappointed, as the weird vareity of sounds combine perfectly here for musical fun times so danceable its almost unbearable.

Usually for me to really like a recording it must pass two tests. One for a straight ahead listening experience & two for both listening & movement. Jiaolong is so strong for movement that I can forgive it when I lose interest on a purely aural level. It is artfully composed & varied in rythmic approaches, ideal for an aerobic workout. There are the usual electronica formulas dating back to Moby's Play & the Chemical Brothers yet Jiaolong possesses a freshness that reminds you that a free thinking artist is @ the controls. Electronica in good taste!

Always have high expectations of what Dan Snaith does but this exceeded them. All of these tunes have lodged in my head. Different and addictive.

Love this album, it is the sound of the times dark and heavy. Best electronic album I have heard in a long time.

Lack of depth/soul, unmoved by this.
Perhaps shouldn't come to it as a fan of his oeuvre.
One for the clubbers out there I think, smacks of a bit of a stopgap release - back in the day these would have appeared as b-sides to accompany the good stuff..
