All movies come in slim cases and in mono unless otherwise indicated. These are all unedited versions, varying running times are solely due to different US vs European frame rates. No need to worry.

This is worth owning for 'Gypsy' alone, presented here in the original aspect ratio. You'll also have 'Splendour in the Grass', which is superb, deeply engaging, and with a beautiful music score; also 'Inside Daisy Clover', which features Natalie giving it her best accompanied by a great Andre Previn score. The weakest film is 'Sex and the Single Girl', not a patch on Doris Day and Rock Hudson, but 'Cash McCall and 'Bombers B52' are very watchable.

The movies are beautifully presented, blemish-free in their original ratios. The extras are odd: Looney Tunes from the same year as the movies. A shame there wasn't any relevant material, then this boxed set would be even better,

If you're a natlie Wood fan, you shouldn't think twice about getting this. If you're just browsing and have a little money burning a hole in your pocket, treat yourself! 'Gypsy' is tremendous fun, and 'Splendour in the Grass' is very moving.

I bought the 4 disc version of this box set chiefly to get the remastered widescreen print of "Gypsy" that was previously available in the more expensive 6-disc edition. However, despite claiming on the box that it contains a stereo soundtrack version in it's original 2.40:1 aspect ratio, Warners have just put the awful original DVD release inside which is mono, pan and scanned and looks absolutely dire. They pulled the same trick in the "Must See Musicals" 15-disc box set. What exactly is the point of going to the trouble and expense of remastering a film but then continuing to release an inferior out of date edition (and worse, putting misleading information on the packaging)? It's a shame because otherwise this would have been a great set. As it is, it feels like being short-changed.

I'm from Texas, and I've been ordering from Amazon for several years. In the late spring, I ordered an all region DVD player. I am so glad I did! In the US, the Natalie Wood Boxset is fairley expensive, but not in the UK. Of course, I have to check every time. Sometimes something is cheaper over here. I am so proud of this collection. It is in perfect condition. The movies are wonderful. I love the UK!

For the price I paid this was excellent value. With such a brief career, it is seldom one gets the chance to see the talented Natalie Wood.
The extras included on the disks make viewing them like a nostalgic visit to the cinema when you used to get more than just the main feature. THey don't go so far as to include a second feature, but you do get a cartoon and the Trailer.
The selection is good from the point of view that it shows her in a range of acting styles. Gypsy and Splendor in the Grass and both remastered versions.
I enjoyed them so much I watched all 6 over a single weekend.

Along with many others I had always been keen to obtain a fully widescreen version of GYPSY but reviews of the copy obtainable as a single DVD were very off putting - until recently that is when I came across a review advising on this box set. WOW!!! a pristine fully re-mastered widescreen copy of GYPSY is in this box set along with five other films in which Natalie starred. This is a good cross section of her career and well worth the purchase price.

Has anyone bought this? I had pre-ordered this boxset, but cancelled it, as I am worried about it saying only FOUR discs for SIX films, which in the US are on one disc each.

So my question is: How many films and how many discs are really included here?

I have rated this item 4 stars, provided that it includes all 6 films on 1 DVD each and in the same quality as the US boxset. The missing star is for the missing extras, except for "Gypsy".

EDIT: I ordered and received this box set in the meantime, and it's very good value, complete with 6 discs, not lacking anything from the US set, neither in quality nor anything else. :-)

This boxed set mostly represents Natalie Wood at her best, especially Splendor in the Grass, in this she is perfectly beautiful and believable as a young girl on the cusp of becoming a woman. I enjoyed all the films - maybe not so much Inside Daisy Clover which I found very much of its time - but unfortunately not in a good way. The quality of all the films is good and I would definately recommend this set - it is a lovely tribute to her acting skills and her beauty.

I bought this DVD mainly for 'Gypsy '- It's a beautiful perfect picture and sound quality, so i am very pleased with it.
Also gave me the chance to see the other films I hadn't seen before. I also enjoyed 'Sex And The Single Girl' and 'Cash McCall' and 'Splendour In The Grass'.
All the films are perfect in picture and sound quality, and of course Natalie Wood is wonderful. Love the fact that all the films are in separate covers!

Natalie Wood was a lovely actress, much missed. She is great in all these roles. I have seen all the films in this collection and have enjoyed them all. Especially Inside Daisy Clover. Not so keen on the older film about the bomber plane but still good all the same. Worth watching. Recommended to any NW fan.
