This review is from: John Wycliffe Bible Interlinear KJV (Student's Edition) (Historic English Bibles Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
As a fan of the King James Bible, for its use of language rather than the religious content, I became interested in its history and evolution. I have been given modern copies of the both the Tyndale, and the Wycliffe versions of the New Testament, and recently a comparative copy of several versions of the Book of Common Prayer, with the 1662 version as the most modern and have been fascinated by the revisions and evolution of the text from one edition to the next. I bought this 'whole bible' as a Kindle edition which makes it easy to see and compare the changes between the earlier version of the Bible and the King James one - once you get used to the interlinear method employed it is very interesting! I think that the King James Bible, and the Book of Common Prayer, are high points in the use of the English language........ from then on, all versions of both Bible and Prayers have rapidly gone down hill in my opinion, much has been lost in attempt to make things 'easy to understand' and acceptable to 'the youth'.
