This short book is the transcript of an interview with a London prostitute. In it, she reveals the contradictory thoughts and feelings she has about her job, her clients, herself and her prospects of having a normal relationship with a man.

A powerful and honest insight into the mind of a working girl.

3.0 out of 5 stars A small insight into a big issue
This interview extract provides an insight into an underworld rife in London. It is written as the interview was conducted so some information is difficult to link together. It has intrigued me enough to find out more from the interviewer and linked me to the website for further information.

I know it's written in the style of the girl speaking but it's 'like' so hard to follow. only thing I got out of it was she had bad child hood and went on to become a prostitute which by the sounds of things she now loves. don't see the point in the book no insight at all.

Very short, disappointing, think it's just an excerpt from the full book which wasn't mentioned in the blurb! Don't waste your money

Was more like reading an article in a magazine than a book nothing I've not read or heard before really, fairly obvious

Dark and grim account of a Workers life. The oldest trade in the world perhaps - but certainly the most soul destroying. I wonder if this got out to a wider audience how attitudes might change.

This is a short bit of writing - as a result all the more a necessary reading.

Thought provoking from the start, I imagined myself sat there in front of this poor women hearing her story first hand. A deep subject matter with questions being raised about the ancient and primal needs of man.

This is a disturbing, powerful read that gives a real insight into what it's like to be a working girl in London. Writers often use prostitutes as characters in books, usually the hooker with the heart of gold who helps the hero, or even falls in love with them. But usually they gloss over the harmful effects of selling your body - and how more often than not drugs, and violence, go hand in hand with prostitution. This book tells it like it is in the voice of a real victim of prostitution. You will never feel the same way about movies like Pretty Woman after you've read this. Prostitution is not fun or glamourous, it can be soulless and destructive and this book tells it how it is.
