This review is from: Debussy: Nocturnes / Ravel: Daphnis et Chloé Suite No.2; Pavane / Scriabin: Le Poème de l'exstase (Audio CD)
This is a fabulous disc. The Debussy Nocturnes are marvellously atmospheric, especially Nuages and Sirenes. Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe suite sounds really magical , rich and heady, with the choir bringing an extra element of ecstasy. The Pavane is given a poignant performance. There are so many individual moments to relish and enjoy, but the combination of these pieces works really well too. Great to see this reissued with the Scriabin adding to the general intoxication! A real treat.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra must be the best American Orchestra for french music! Under Abbado they sound marvellous.
The best recording of Nocturnes I ever heard.
