5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest horror film cleaned up
Rosemary's Baby - the finest horror film ever made, is 44 years old now. In this blu ray clean up on Criterion, it looks like it was made this morning, so fine is the quality.

Everything is crisp and clean, the sound, now uncompressed mono is superb.

Mia Farrow, Roman Polanski and Robert Evans take part in a fantastic new documentary filmed in 2012.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better
I got this for my wife for Christmas, as it's one of her favourite movies and we like supporting Criterion's work. Usually, if you get the Criterion version of a film, you never need another. I got this for my wife for Christmas, as it's one of her favourite movies and we like supporting Criterion's work. Usually, if you get the Criterion version of a film, you never need another. This time out, though they produced a new documentary for the release (talking recently and chiefly to Farrow, Polanski and producer Bob Evans), and included a radio conversation with original authour Ira Levin as well as a Polish TV doc about composer Komeda, they left out the trailer and the contemporary 'making of' film that were the only extras on the old DVD! The remastering of the film is sublime, revealing new details, richer blacks and more striking colours; the sound is roughly the same.
So, great film, great image, satisfactory sound, incomplete though engaging extras.
