5.0 out of 5 stars thought provoking, 7 Oct 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Comma: An Anthology (Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading this anthology. Its easy to pick up when you have just a few minutes of reading time.
The stories are all well written and each of them takes you to a different place. The best by far is that by Jeanie O'Hare. It hung around in my head for days. It is really thought provoking.
Put it on your Christmas list.

5.0 out of 5 stars ' Page Turner', 16 Dec 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Comma: An Anthology (Paperback)
There's at least three reasons i can think of to urge people to but this book. Firstly, with the short story unfashionable and unloved, this book is a tonic. Its the kind of book that becomes harder and harder to get hold of these days.
Secondly, because it is rather an exceptional book. Whilst not only containing some of the best short fiction i have read for a very long time, it is the accumulation of so many different voices - each powerful and engaging in their own right - that make this book so memorable. Some of the stories here are funny, some hauntingly tragic, some just bizarre; yet all but one are exceptional, and well worth taking the trip.
And finally, it has a wonderful front cover and looks exceptionally chic and would complement your bookshelves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliantly Memorable Stories, 9 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Comma (Kindle Edition)
Short story collections from different authors can be a mixed bag, but all of these are memorable and at least half will stay with you for days. Since finishing it I've already flipped back and re-read two of them, and fully expect I'll re-read more, and have bought a full-length novel from one of the authors. This is a book I'll keep on my Kindle to dip into again and again.
